The hotel is excellent in every way. The lobby is very well decorated, with beautiful details. The service is excellent as all Quinta Real hotels. They welcome you with a drink of hibiscus with a touch of cinnamon. The restaurant is very nice and the breakfast buffet is quite good. The rooms are very spacious, each one different, they are full of complements and details to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. It was here that someone recommended me the best restaurant I went to in Guadalajara: “Alcalde”.

We stayed at this hotel for two days. It was highly rated. The property is very quaint and beautiful. The staff was very courteous. The first night was very cold. We put the heater on, but the room was not getting warm. We finally called front desk to address the problem. A maintenance person finally arrived around midnight to fix the problem. He stated he needed to check the central heating system to perform the repairs. After an hour of waiting and freezing in bed, we received a call from front desk informing us they can't fix the heater. We were given two options: change rooms or be provided with blankets. At this point we had clothing all over the place and were so cold we were not able to move around. We requested the blankets. It took another 45 minutes to get the blankets. We were unable to sleep well all night and our whole trip was impacted in a major way. We moved to another room the next day. I will unfortunately not be using this property again.

Room Tip: Very dated

These have to be among the most beautiful hotels in the country, buildings are always Colonial Mexican style full of charm and decorator details. Amenities are top notch as is the service and food. A true oasis away from the crowds. If you want to experience the true Mexican gracious lifestyle, this is the way to go. Our favorite wherever they have a hotel. Mexican Chain par excellence!

Room Tip: Inside rooms are best as hotel is on a busy avenue and there is no view, opt for a garden view instead and enjoy the tranquility

Quinta Real is a very nice replica of an old hacienda. It is a luxury hotel so I did expect luxury which raises the bar. The front staff was always attentive and helpful. In two days, we did need to call housekeeping twice as they forgot to replace our towels and another item, which I didn't expect from this level of hotel. They are in construction now, so I'm sure the hotel will continue to get better. We chose this hotel so that we could feel more Mexican culture than in a typical Hilton, Sheraton etc. and we did, so that was very nice. It is located 15 - 20 minutes by cab from the downtown, so that is something to consider if you want to do only Guadalajara tourist things. There is a great restaurant in walking distance from the hotel called 'The Tequila' and the food and ambiance were stellar. Overall a good experience.
