“Beautiful place, great for kids! Tons of activities”

Parque Ecologico Chapultepec
Reviewed 7 June 2018

This park has so many attractions it's hard to know where to start. It's a cross between a small amusement park, zoo, and nature park. It's a linear park with a wide path that is lined with waterfalls and lush jungle. Some of the waterfalls are man-made, but that didn't stop my children being impressed. There was an aviary with peacocks, a butterfly garden, a train (under construction), playgrounds, alligators, boats, reptile house, history, theaters, and food. My wife went running and I took the kids walking around. We stayed after her run and enjoyed many of the amenities. Plenty of bathrooms. Parking was right out front and free, with a parking attendant assisting in finding spots. We went on a Saturday around 11 AM and entry was free (although some things inside had a small fee).

Clean water gushes out of the ground and flows through a safe forested area. This park must be experienced to be believed. It is very beautiful, and the art center is a treasure too. Unfortunately, local tourist brochures show a lake with paddle boats. That part of the park is sadly closed so no one can swim in a clean natural water empoundment in Cuernvaca (only dirty streams and pools). Many residents remember a different Cuernavaca. I hope that this treasure stays open and is returned to its former splendor.

I was here for business and took me running shoes.
At 7 am I went running with collegues and we were not the only people running. The park was nice active with early runners/walkers giving a very nice athmosphere.

The park is/was also a zoo, with a crocodile and some monkeys.
We could only see half of the park as the lake part was closed.
The first part of the park however is also very nice.

I was at Chapultepec a couple months ago. I was invited by the park staff , it was a bussines meeting and a work visit. How ever i most say it felt like a lovely day at the park. The park is spectacular, its filled with beautiful trees, and water flows everywhere. There are springs, cascades, lakes. The park has a microclimate, its fresh even in hot days and has a beautiful smell from flowers that grow all over. There are a few attractions for kids, and its also a great place to work out. I saw many runners jogging and enjoying the park. If you are in Cuernavaca and want to see the lush Cuernavaca this is the right place.

If you are up to a nice stroll or jog into the lucious vegetation of Cuernavaca, or just to visit the newest museum in town ( fantastic expositions), or entertainig children with a real animal exhibits, just to breath clean air or row a boat in a small lake, this is the place to go. There is much more to see. The entrance fee is around 1usd ( its free for the people who excercise early in the morning, until 8) and you can stay as long as you want.
There are wheelchairs available and a touristic train for people who don't want to walk.
