First impressions after coming from a swanky hotel in Phuket were 'oh dear, what have we come to', the hotel reception at the place we had just left had fountains, lights and glitz, this was small, basic and definitely no glitz! However, we were greeted by a really friendly and helpful guy [sorry can't remember your name] who took us on a 5 second buggy ride to our cottage 'The Cliff', which was roomy, clean and had a toilet with a view!
The breakfast, situated next to the lake, was varied and although not on the same scale as the bigger hotels, was adequate. The setting of the pool with the backdrop of the mountains, trees and gardens was perfect. Good or bad thing they don't serve alcohol at the hotel. This is a place to just sit back and chill, and watch the bats fly about in the evening.
After our first initial reaction of 'oh dear' we were soon saying 'oh wow!'. If you are looking for peace and quiet in a tranquil setting, surrounded by limestone mountains, beautiful well maintained gardens, excellent staff and within a 15 minute walk, or free shuttle bus journey away from the main beach and shops, then this is the resort for you.
