Visited this site recently & was very impressed with how well it was run. Spotless with lovely flowers,2 lovely kids playgrounds, close to the beach & very safe, can reach beach via pathway. Kitchen area with freezer for storage, washing machine, games room & television room. Short distance to village & in an ideal location to visit Dingle & explore beautiful surrounding countryside. Showers & toilets very clean. Spoke with Ann owner, lovely lady doing a great job, would have no hesitation in recommending this site to friends & family, we were so impressed we hope to spend a holiday here next year & are looking forward to it already.

Room Tip: Very close via pathway to beach.

Dear Philisity,

Thank you ever so much for taking the time to share your feedback with everyone here on Trip Advisor.

We are delighted to read such a complimentary review and to know that you had such a great time whilst staying with us here at Anchor Caravan Park.

As you quite rightly said, we really are in an prime location to discover the Dingle Peninsula and all the wonderful sites, activities, pubs and restaurants it has to offer. Next you visit, ask us for some tips on places to visit in Tralee and Killarney too. We are also very well located to these too wonderful towns with lots to see and do.

We're thrilled to learn that you'll look to visit again next year. We certainly will look forward to welcoming you back.

Kindest regards,
Chris and Anne Searle

My husband and I spent a week earlier this month in Anchor. This was our second time here. The campsite is pet friendly which meant our Red Setter came with us. The proprietors Ann and Chris made us feel so welcome. The campsite has to be the cleanest that we have ever stayed in. The kitchen, shower and toilet areas were absolutely immaculate. The campsite gardens are so well maintained with beautiful plant, hanging baskets and flowers everywhere - the splash of colour is fabulous and flowers are so well maintained. The campsite has direct access on to a fabulous beach There ars two well equipped childrens play areas. The larger one has swings, playhouses and games. There is a wet suit wash area and ample clothes lines. We would most definitely recommend Anchor caravan park. Top class!

This is an RV and camping place, the camping is a lovely grassy area, but it does not have specific sites, you just pick an area and pitch your tent. We were biking and found the place easy to access. The facilities were clean, nice kitchen area for cooking with a refrigerator and laundry machines and even an ironing room. It's on a nice quiet side road. Had great access to the beach and close enough to Castegregory to walk or bike easily. Free wifi was great.

Dear ETraveler-99,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your nice feedback about your recent experience with us here at Anchor Caravan Park.

We are delighted that you liked the facilities throughout the campsite and that you enjoyed our peaceful surroundings and our magnificent beach. We are truly blessed with one of the most beautiful beaches in Ireland, and having direct access to this from the campsite is a real bonus for our guests.

We hope to see you again soon.

Kindest regards,

I have just had the end of a marvellous holiday to Ireland ruined by the extremely rude and aggressive owner of this campsite. We booked in for two nights yesterday and when checking in we were asked we had a two man tent which I said it was. The question was asked because apparently the "campsite" doesn't have a licence for any tents bigger than a two man tent, and indeed they have a notice to say that they accept small tents only. My tent is a two man, but larger than your average festival pop up tent. However, in all the campsites we have stayed (and that is many), our tent is always one of the smallest on site, and is always classified as a small tent.

We pitched and went away to explore the area and have dinner. When we returned, the owner came out to us and started shouting about the monstrosity of a tent we had erected, and claimed it was at least a 5 man tent. He refused my offer to see inside the tent to tell me where the 5 people would sleep, nor did he accept my offer to see the specification to prove it was a two man tent. He just continued to argue (in the middle of the camping field with everyone looking on) that it was an unacceptable size and we would have to leave in the morning.

We then had to look for accommodation which had late notice availability for a Saturday night in August on the Dingle peninsula - no mean feat and it ended up costing us five times what we were paying in the campsite.

A suggestion to the owner of Anchor site - please put a prominent notice on your website and in your office that you will not accept tents which are larger than a 'festival pop up' tent, and include the acceptable dimensions. Saying "small tents only" means nothing!

Another small gripe is that all the facilities are key access only which means that if you both want to use the bathroom, you have to take turns as only one person has the key. On the plus side, it was very clean.

If you are camping, I would suggest avoiding this site entirely.
