This was the 11th trip to Breezes for me and my wife Julie. Why do we keep coming back? Because we have a blast every time and it's mainly because of the great people that work there. Thanks to Jerry and Larry and all of the other entertainment staff who made it so much fun. Funky D and the Summer Breeze Band were amazing as always and Dwight in the piano bar is a superb pianist and vocalist. Thanks so much to Entertainment Director Carlton for taking care of us and thanks also to GM Jeffrey Stubbs who treated us warmly as returning guests.

This resort is awful. Our room was dirty and the patio was nasty. There was a pair of underwear on the patio table. The food was nasty. I went back to our room and ate chips. The beach was dirty. The resort looks rundown and not taken care of. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The beach is spectacular. One can walk for miles along the shoreline. We walked in to Nassau, about 5 miles, mostly along the shore. We also used the local bus service multiple times ($1.50 each way), and if you’re able to act like a Bahamian the locals treat you with respect and assist you if necessary. (Nice craft brewery in town). There was always a guard posted on the beach, mostly to keep the peddling down to a minimum and there was an ample supply of towels available.

The food was very basic. The same food was offered each day, institutionalized preparation but with limited fresh fruit offered for every meal. Coffee was from (freeze-dried coffee) dispensers and tasted like their machines hadn’t been serviced in a long time. Staff was overworked but kept dining areas reasonably clean.
The two premium dining halls do not take reservations, open when they feel like it, and if you’re not in queue 45 minutes early, you’ll be going back to the main dining room for dinner. One bright spot is the food is better …IF you get in.

Drinks are plentiful although weak. My wife and I drained a pitcher of margaritas with little effect. Anything we drank seemed to be lacking. I felt that the alcohol was watered down, more than what I was expecting for a discounted rate hotel. The one beer on tap is a local Pilsner that would only satisfy someone that has an affinity for (Bud/Coors/Miller) lite. No other beers were offered. The only spot that was worthy of calling their drinks alcoholic was in the piano bar.

The hotel is dated, which we expected. The prices were consistent with the room decor, (we weren’t expecting it to be a Sandal’s, Marriott, or even close). We were not anticipating the elevators not to work. There was one out of four to service over 150 rooms and the staff mentioned that it had been this way for at least three to four weeks. We were fortunate to have an end room that looked out directly to the beach, which was also one of the more quieter rooms. The bed was comfortable. Be sure you ask for daily housekeeping or you will be making your own bed during your stay.
Service came with a price. We had booked a cabana (with butler service) for the 9 days we were there and was greatly disappointed with our “butler”. The folks that tipped got the attention. The more you tip, the more visitation you received- even though the resort has a “no tipping” policy. The staff was very open in telling us that most of their salary depended upon us to tip. By the second day we were offered service only twice a day since I refused to tip, simply to receive what I’d already paid for. I asked for a refund of the cabana and was flatly denied even though we were not receiving service.
