A fun way to see Little Cayman. Great service ...dropped right to our door.
You don't need a car, just a scooter.
I have visited Little Cayman many times and always forget to reserve the scooter ahead of time - this time it was different as I was travelling with someone who rides motorcycles and thought it would be fun to tour the island, plus it was her first time.
I have not ridden a scooter since 1968 in the days of Lambretta and Vespas so was a little unprepared for how heavy these scooters are! However, after about 10 minutes I was fine. They were delivered to our resort and we were given a good explanation as to how things worked. Bruce was very accommodating and helpful.
It is really the best way to see the island and I highly recommend touring this way. We rode for close to 3 hours and the only thing we would do differently is to avoid the gravel road - it is a little hairy. In the end, we only had to return the scooters to our resort - check-in and out couldn't have been easier! Just remember to reserve in advance. The East End Rest spot is a place not to miss.
We had a great time renting scooters-definitely recommend this way to explore the island. Very easy check-in/out process with arrival/departure at the airport and our Airbnb.
Such a great way to explore the island! At first we tried to cycle all the way around but gave up half way and took a short cut - while I do believe it is possible to cycle it, it certainly isn't easy! After the failure, we wanted to rent a car but they had no cars available in the local car rental, so I called Bruce to see if they happened to have any scooters available. At first they were all taken (yeah, you better book in advance), but we managed to get one in the afternoon, and... it definitely worth it! I'm so glad they didn't have cars available - scooter is sooo much better on little cayman (of course if you travelling without kids), and it's such an experience!
I barely had any experience with this types of scooters, although I did ride the bird e-scooters quite a lot. That was not a problem at all - these Yamaha scooters are so light and easy to ride that we didn't have any issues riding it at all. Especially on Little Cayman, going all the way around the island I think it was only maybe 3 or 4 cars that passed us, one of the safest places to ride a scooter!
The booking experience is amazing as well, Bruce has delivered the scooter right to our doorstep to Paradise Villas, which is also where we left the scooter in the evening, no need to worry about anything.
PS: If you go all the way around - be careful on the north side the road is quite sandy, need to go pretty slow sometimes not to skid. Going to Point of Sand via South road took around 30 minutes, going back North road more like an hour. Also make sure to bring fins and mask - snorkeling off the Point of Sand is incredible, seen more stuff than when diving the day before! Scooters have a little trunk underneath the seat, just enough for two mid-size snorkel sets, also the back passenger can have a backpack with extra stuff.
Prompt response helpful tips and flexible pickup/return saw everything on our schedule for low price
We had a blast riding our scooter around Little Cayman! It was the ideal way to see the island. Bruce was so kind and helpful to us, and he made sure we knew how to ride the scooter and our helmets fit properly before we took off. He even gave us a ride to the airport when we were done! The next time we’re on Little Cayman, we’ll definitely do this again. I enthusiastically recommend Scooten! Scooters!
