We visit St. Lucia regularly and have eaten at the Pink Plantation House four times. Every visit has been unforgettable in terms of food, service, views and atmosphere.
Set in a lovingly restored large victorian style house, the restaurant serves locally inspired dishes featuring fish, lamb, beef, chicken, seafood, fresh vegetables, salads, soups and delicious desserts. My husband ordered barracuda in a ginger sauce and I had the lamb curry special - both were outstanding and were accompanied by salad, plantains, sautéed greens, beans and (I think) christophine.
The service is always attentive and outstanding. Often you will see Michelle, the owner, on the premises. She is also an artist and the Pink Plantation House uses her beautifully painted pottery in the restaurant and throughout the house in general. There is an area where her art is exhibited and where one can purchase her pieces. Michelle was there on our last visit and she showed us the newly opened guest rooms upstairs. The rooms are quite spectacular creating a real island atmosphere with lots of colors and textures.
What adds to the Pink House's allure are its gardens. The house is surrounded by lush vegetation including many native flowers, ferns and orchids as well as different palm trees. Set high above Castries, the property also offers spectacular views across the city and harbor.
Everything about the Pink Plantation House is magical and amazing and you know the food must be good when the Prime Minister of the Island is seated at the table next to you!
