I visited the Carayou in September, 2017 with a large group. The restaurant is very nice, with good buffets for breakfast and dinner. The deck overlooks the bay. It's a magnificent place to eat breakfast while watching the water.
The swimming pools are equally good. There are two, one overlooking the bay and another inside the hotel complex. There is a waterfall (slide?) in one of them, and the hotel offers excursions for hiking, snorkeling, and such.
The drawback is the rooms. The air-conditioning isn't terribly powerful, and the rooms are built to European standards of the 1980s- beds are relatively narrow and firm, there are few power outlets. It's quite acceptable, but American tourists are likely to be surprised at the accommodations.More
