Our room was decent, but the service was poor. We were bitten constantly at night by mosquitoes in our room. We asked numerous times for the hotel chambermaids to keep the door closed while they cleaned the room. There was almost no reggae music. We asked constantly at the pool, but were told the same standard "Ya Mon" The food was poor quality. Some meat bordered on inedible. We constantly faced problems booking the a la carte restaurants - yet when we would go - the place would be 1/3 full. The staff seemed unhappy, and slow to respond. We were told we had problems because we didnt attend the first day orientation aka promotions for extended time sharing and other packages. Apparently if you joined some exclusive club, you had a better location. For over $ 4000 a week for a couple incl. air fare, not sure why we have to pay more to get reasonable service. Very disappointed in this resort, and as a result will probably never return to Jamaica. We told them all of this on their online survey. They thanked us for completing the survey. Nothing else. We are also angry at Air Canada Vacations. We spent a fortune and would figure they would work with these resorts to ensure an acceptable level of quality - no such luck. Otherwise - I could have just selected a resort myself and done just as bad. Will not return, and will never book through Air Canada Vacations again.
If you want to diet by not eating, and want to catch Zika from mosquito bites - this is the place for you - Enjoy!

Room Tip: Dont go. Just not worth it.

Let me start by saying the Resort is very clean and nice. There are lots of places to walk and 3 big pools. The rooms are big and very clean. They do expect you to pay for a safe . Six dollars a day which tome is stupid when you pay the money you do to stay there. The entertainment is ok pretty much same every where. We did a few day trips which were really good. I would totally recommend the Blue Hole, Dunns River and we did Komoka Falls and park which was nice as well. The food was great at all Al la carte as well. I am not sure why at 12 noon there out of Rum when they make it there and Rye and Vodka pretty much every day. If your a beer drinker and wine you will be fine. It bothers me when your paying for All Inclusive that this is a Major issue. Other than that it was a good trip.

Room Tip: We had Junior suite Ocean View. Make sure you get 4th floor and up for the view

Grounds – the resort is absolutely beautiful, it is huge and well taken care of. You constantly see people working away to keep it so nice. The lobby bar and patio is probably my favourite feature of the resort, it has such a beautiful view overlooking the grounds, pool and water.

Food – the breakfast was by far my favourite offering. We ate in the main buffet every morning and there was more than enough to choose from including an omelette station and a breakfast burrito station. The only problem we encountered at breakfast was that about 5 of the days we were there, both bacon trays were empty. Lunch was okay, not nearly as many options as breakfast but we always found something to eat. Down by the beach there was jerk chicken which was good. Dinner – we wanted to make reservations every night at the a la carte restaurants but were only allowed to make 3 for the week which wasn’t great. Most resorts we’ve stayed at in this price range allow you to make reservations at the a la carte all week if you wanted. Also, 2/3 reservations were at 9pm and 9:30pm as that was the only time available for the week; we didn’t really want to eat dinner that late but wanted to try out the a la carte. With that being said, the a la carte restaurants we tried were good, especially the tapenyaki. For us, one of the highlights of our trip is the food and unfortunately this resort (aside from breakfast) did not meet our expectations.

Rooms – the room was great, the bed was comfy and there was plenty of space. We had a nice balcony that looked towards the pool and we never had an issue with noise (and we slept in until about 9 everyday). There was ample closet space. The one downside is that you had to pay for the safe, I’ve never had to pay for the safe ($5 US). It has always just been included with the room. Our fridge was stocked every day except for one. I would suggest bringing your own shampoo and conditioner.

Beach – we are beach people so my one complaint would be with the beaches. There were 3 different beach areas you could go to but the ones closest to the resort were always full with no chairs left. The beach at the far left of the resort had space but was about a 10 minute walk, which really only matters if you need to come back to apply sunscreen or have lunch. There was also no daily beach volleyball which we always part-take in. Towards the end of our trip, we hung by the pool and the further you walked the less crowded it was. We ended up laying in the cabanas and it was very quiet so that was great. Bathrooms and food were also super close-by so I would recommend walking further away from the main pool area to the other end as there was many more seats and shade.

Overall, this was a good resort with no major complaints. I would come back if the price was right.

We spent a week in the resort and did two days tours. Our room had a wrap around balcony overlooking the ocean. The room itself was clean and everything was in working order (hairdryer, fridge, lights, shower, air conditioner). There was a small area of water damage on the ceiling above the bed which had been painted over and obviously no longer leaked. Maid service was good with lots of shampoo, body wash and bar fridge restocked daily. One of the days we had a different maid who left artistic decoration on the bed and tied the sheers prettily. We tipped each day.
The buffet was good with lots of variety everything from porridge to individually made omelettes for breakfast and always fresh tropical fruit. Supper ranged from western to Jamaican food and all of it was plentiful and seemed fresh.
The best meal of the stay was at Don Pablo and both service and food was exceptional. The Japanese restaurant was okay but nothing outstanding.
The wedding rehearsal dinner was fine (not outstanding) but held in the Italian restaurant which has a cone-like ceiling and the noise was a problem. We requested coffee which was listed on the menu but never received it.
The wedding dinner was also quite nice and service quite good. This dinner was held in the Garden Grill. Again coffee was on the menu but we had to ask for some. This time we got it but no one else did. The wedding cake was superb.
The all night snack bar only serves bad hamburgers and hot dogs and soft drinks so don't count on other snacks or room service of other food items during the night unless perhaps you bought gold level.
I believe some of the bars ran out of alcohol so sometimes we received watered down or virgin drinks but most of time you just had to wait a while and more booze arrived.
The beaches were all maintained beautifully and water clear, perfect swimming and suntanning.
The pool is huge but quite noisy as there are always activities going on. Fun for those who enjoy that. We mostly stuck to the beaches as it was quiet and you could hear the waves rather than loud music and games.
Entertainment was what you might expect at a resort. One outstanding jazz singer, excellent local musicians, great steel drum players, some not so good shows.
The wedding itself was perfect with lovely touches like water for each guest and champagne toast following the ceremony. It was held in a beautiful gazebo on the beach.
The resort tries very hard with the upkeep of the facility. Workmen were caring for the grounds constantly cleaning walkways, trimming and raking vegetation, painting edges and railings. There are some signs of aging like stains and wear of hallways rugs, water damage on the ceiling in our room but mostly the hotel is clean and well maintained.
We found all the staff polite, friendly and helpful. When we called the front desk for help it arrived immediately.
Beware of prices in the stores located in the resort. Everything is overpriced and deals need to be made in a big way. Never buy alcohol from anywhere except duty free when you are leaving the country. Bottle of 21 year old rum in the community $200 - $240, at the airport $104.
We took two day trips. A community tour to a school and a coffee farm. Those parts of the trip were wonderful and informative. The school could use supplies so bringing paper, pencils, etc is appreciated or there is a donation box for monetary donations. The shopping at the end of the trip is a total rip off location and even though deals are made be sure you use your own calculator to add up the various items, their calculator seems to be faulty ;(
Bob Marley day trip - you see a lot of countryside and the tour guide is great with local information. The driver awesome as the roads are crazy winding, narrow, mountain roads. We felt perfectly safe in his hands. The actual stay at the Bob Marley compound is memorable although really all you see is a tiny house with the famous single bed and two burial buildings housing the graves of Bob Marley and his mother. Do try the flaming Bob Marley shot it's great and you keep the shot glasses as a memento.
Back at the hotel free wifi is available for one hour a day in the lobby. You can purchase more if required. We didn't even use the full one hour as we went there to unplug.
We had a terrific time. I would recommend it but as I usually only visit places once probably will not return.

Room Tip: Our room was in section A facing the ocean - perfect.
