Barbuda is one of the best hidden gems of the Caribbean and Barbuda Cottages is the most wonderful thing about Barbuda.

Kelcina, Oliver, Chris and Ali and their team made this one of the best places to stay in all of Antigua and Barbuda. They made us feel as this was a home away from home - they really are a wonderful family and cannot thank them enough for such a great getaway particularly at the end of such a troublesome year.

After lots of last minute back and forth due to COVID restrictions etc, we managed to get 3 nights here - Kelcina definitely bent over backwards trying to accommodate us! And once we arrived, we were not disappointed. For a quiet, peaceful, no frills relaxing break, this is your place.

The Cottages have everything you need including drinking water from a tap. Please note there is no air conditioning but there are overhead fans and while we were there, we had a beautifully cooling breeze at night so didn't really need air conditioning. Another item to note are the sand-flies on the beach - thanks to the breeze, we were lucky to escape the worst of them.

The beach is pristine and hardly anyone on it - it isn't the longest stretch of beach but a short 20-30 min walk away is Princess Diana Beach which has to be the best beach I have ever been too. There was not a single soul on the beach for 5-6 km apart from the staff at Nobu (yes! there is a Nobu on the beach!), a beach shack offering drinks and then at the Barbuda Ocean Club (and their guests - but this was right at the other end). Whilst walking along we even saw a ray of some sort swimming along parallel to the beach about 4-5 metres in. It was paradise!

The food at Barbuda Cottages is superb too - the catch of the day at dinner and their pulled pork mac and cheese were both UNBELIVEABLLY good!

If you are going to Antigua and Barbuda, this is the one MUST-DO that I would recommend - it will not disappoint.

Room tip: All the cottages are identical.

A couple friends and I just stayed at Barbuda cottages and had the best weekend! we rented all 3 cottages and they were all just as amazing as the other. They were very clean and well kept. Kelsina and her family are absolutely the best hosts, they accommodate almost any request and treat their guest like family. Would 10/10 recommend a weekend getaway here!

We (group of 6) had the BEST time staying at the cottages. Everything was absolute bliss, from the outdoor shower, to the use of kayaks and paddle boards and even the delicious dinner at Uncle Roddy’s restaurant. Would highly recommend staying here if looking for a little bit of bliss on Barbuda. Thank you Kelcinda!

Over thirty years ago, I fell in love with the island of Barbuda & the people and over the years came to know about this special little paradise. I had not seen Barbuda Cottages since it was rebuilt after hurricane Irma but was so excited to see the website and what had developed. I am writing this review because I feel the owners Kelcina and Oliver & staff, capture the essence of the island & people. The cottages are low key, peaceful, and all one needs in one of the most pristine settings on earth, undisturbed by any intrusions other than the sound of lapping waves, morning doves and the occassional donkey passing by. What is stated and shown on the website is quite accurate- accomodations are spotless, meals you won't forget, endless deserted beaches, an island and people you'll always remember. And hands down, the most caring and knowledgeable owners & staff you'll ever meet. So IF you've never been to Barbuda, you should. Unfortunately, I had to depart after being there only a few days due to the virus. I look forward to a return visit one day only to experience the hard work and love that no doubt continues to make Barbuda Cottages, Simply the Best place to stay.

We have just recently returned from our Sixth Trip to Barbuda and we know there will be a number seven next year.
Best Beaches in the World…. better than Antigua and Barbuda Cottages is an amazing place to stay with their newly renovated Uncle Roddy’s Restaurant and new two bedroom Cottage.
They now have a new young Jamaican Chef Ashani with his Wife Christina at Uncle Roddy’s. Together with Kelcina, they have created an amazing menu with mouthwatering daily specials.
Plentiful portions of delicious food including deserts such as the incredible Double Chocolate Crème Brule.
If you want a nice quiet peaceful vacation this is the right place. There are many areas to explore as well.
Princess Diana Beach definitely one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
Walk to Coco Point - a beautiful walk on Princess Diana Beach to look at the Yachts and nice views at the point.
Go to Spanish Point for a spectacular view and see the fishermen diving to get Lobsters from their boats or see the Kite surfers.
Two Foot Bay and walk up through the cave to the top of the cliffs for a breath taking view of the ocean and the waves crashing over the reef.
Take the 45 minute hike to the sink hole and Darby cave.
The Codrington ruins the homes of the first White inhabitants of Barbuda.
The Frigate Bird sanctuary, a very interesting boat trip where you will see and learn all about the Frigate Birds from your guide.
There are a few new restaurants on the Island now, the meals at Uncle Roddy’s were our favourites. Beautiful fresh fish and Lobster daily that can’t be beat!
Kelcina and Oliver are incredibly hospitable as are all their staff and are so wonderful, friendly and kind !!

What more can we say. Taking a trip to Barbuda Cottages will be the trip of a life time that you will cherish forever and never forget !!!

We’ll be back next year!!

Room tip: There are four Cottage a 3, 2 and two 1 bedroom versions. You can pre-order food and drinks and alcohol.
