Recent trip to the farm with my kids was relaxing and interesting. Easy to get to, park and see the animals.

Over the last year or so I have spent a lot of time going to the community farm, mainly for the baby and toddler groups that take place on a Tuesday and I have a fondness for the farm after the time I have spent here, including visiting Santa last year.

I was however very disappointed on my most recent visit. My husband and I took our daughter to the farm today to visit Santa. We had a lovely welcome in the shop when we arrived, and all was going well until we went to visit Santa.

Santa was not that engaging although he was friendly enough, but having paid for our ticket I was amazed that a member of staff interrupted our visit to come and offer Santa a cup of tea and ultimately have a chat with Santa, as we were visiting. This was unbelievably rude especially as this member of staff completely ignored us!

I won’t be taking my daughter to the farm next year to visit Santa, and no longer attend the baby and toddler groups anyway so probably won’t be back for a long time now, if at all.

Thanks for taking the time to share your comments. I am sorry that you did not enjoy your trip to Father Christmas this year..what is confusing to us was the cup of tea visitor but upon investigation, we think this was one of our volunteers and obviously very inappropriate. We have discussed as a management team to try and ensure that no such thing happens again. None of our management team were aware of any feedback like this on the day as we could have tried to make amends.

It is a shame that following what sounds like many positive experiences here at the farm that you would not come back based on this one but of course that is your choice. As you probably know we have a wide range of seasonal events that take place throughout the year and it would be a shame to miss them all due to this one visit.

I visited for the 1st time with my 2 year old. It was raining but there was lots indoors for us. The cafe is cosy and great quality too...the cakes are amazing!!

We went for the Greenmeadow Show, having been many times on normal days.

Once again we all had a thoroughly enjoyable day - our little girls, 2 & 4, had a whale of a time looking at and feeding the animals as usual. They also loved the mini-circus (clowns, not animals) in the big top, the craft activities and the marshmallow-toasting in the woods.

We had lunch in the cafe - they eat most of their children's meals (5 item box) and we enjoyed our good too - ham, egg & chips (if I recall correctly).

Unsurprisingly, we'll happily go again.

I used to live just across the road to the Farm and remember it before becoming the great place it is today. Staff are very friendly and helpful on arrival. There are signs all around the farm reminding you to wash hands after handling the animals.
There is a petting corner where children are given baby animals (chicks, rabbits, guinea pigs) wrapped in a towel to hold, while with a parent. My granddaughter, aged 7, has an annual pass to attend different events through the year and spends a lot of time during the summer school holidays over there learning new things.
There are 2 seperate play areas for small and bigger children and a good Cafe with good food.
