Owner description: Milea Bee Farm is not not your typical, manicured farm. You will be visiting a small farm dedicated for the propagation and care of various species of honey producing bees. It is situated in a secluded area with no neighbours and without electricity, and it's a five minute walk from the parking area. Visitors will be having a guided tour to see the bees in their habitat. We have the Italian Bees, Philippine Native Honey Bees and different kinds of Philippine Native Stingless Bees. You can have a taste of honey, fresh from the bee hive; know and see the different honey producing bee species; know the sources of nectar and pollen as well as edible flowers; discover the relationship between bees & flowers; and how bees are closely related to the food chain. It will be an entirely new experience which gets you much closer to nature. Milea Bee Farm is only open to visitors every first Saturday of the month. Please note that this is not a resort and we do not have a restaurant though we serve food using farm produced ingredients with prior arrangement. Hope we could share to you why bees are important and how you can lend a hand in our campaign and the worldwide concern to help save the bees.

Lucky to have the owner Rico Omoyan during our visit at Milea Bee Farm. Learned a lot about bees, how important they are in the food chain and pollination of flowers, his passion about teaching and empowering other farmers about the importance and the know-how in raising bees. I didn’t expect it to be that informative but it was an eye opening and inspiring visit. Bees are important and farmers in the Philippines do not realize that. Visit not only for the photos but for the learning.

Our visit to Milea Orchard and Bee Farm was more than just a leisure trip. We definitely learned and gained so much more than what we expected thanks to the people in the farm, led by Sir Rico whose passion for beekeeping shone throughout our stay.

The educational tour around the farm enlightened us on the benefits of beekeeping -- going beyond just the honey and emphasizing on pollination, the significance of sustainability, and the advantages of social enterprises. From learning the basics of the honeybee's life cycle, their production process and gifts to the entire ecosystem, we truly gained a new sense of appreciation for these nature workers some might (sadly) consider pests. Before the trip, I never realized the great impact honeybees had for the agricultural sector, and what great potential they may have on our country as well. Sir Rico definitely played a huge role in giving us this new perspective. His tour of the farm was very entertaining, teaching us not only about the honeybees, but including the different produce they had around the farm. In fact, we even got to try the various kinds of honey from Milea, as well as some of the edible flowers and herbs as we walked around the farm.

We capped the day off with a hearty lunch prepared by Milea's friendly and courteous staff, made from the various produce of the farm. Ma'am Edilee's "Daga't Pusa" salad was a personal favorite of mine, and it went really well with the honey made by the stingless honeybees.

Ultimately, it was a very interesting, entertaining, and enlightening trip. The farm was beautiful, the staff were great, Sir Rico and Ma'am Edilee were amazing hosts, and the food at the end of the trip was delicious! I would definitely invite my family to come visit Milea, knowing they would enjoy as much as my friends and I did.

We went to Milea Bee Farm last Saturday to conduct our study and the owner is very accommodating. The tour is extremely educational and we got to know more about beekeeping. We also got to taste edible flowers and other plants. Overall, we enjoyed visiting the farm and hoping to come again soon.
