Recommended length of visit: 1-2 hours
Owner description: Milea Bee Farm is not not your typical, manicured farm. You will be visiting a small farm dedicated for the propagation and care of various species of honey producing bees. It is situated in a secluded area with no neighbours and without electricity, and it's a five minute walk from the parking area. Visitors will be having a guided tour to see the bees in their habitat. We have the Italian Bees, Philippine Native Honey Bees and different kinds of Philippine Native Stingless Bees. You can have a taste of honey, fresh from the bee hive; know and see the different honey producing bee species; know the sources of nectar and pollen as well as edible flowers; discover the relationship between bees & flowers; and how bees are closely related to the food chain. It will be an entirely new experience which gets you much closer to nature. Milea Bee Farm is only open to visitors every first Saturday of the month. Please note that this is not a resort and we do not have a restaurant though we serve food using farm produced ingredients with prior arrangement. Hope we could share to you why bees are important and how you can lend a hand in our campaign and the worldwide concern to help save the bees.

The most genuine hosts we have met so far!

I say this because there are times when we first encounter someone, there's always that sort of instant aura telling you if that person is just making "bola" or is trying to push a product.

It was the exact opposite with our Milea Bee Farm experience. It never felt like it was just some sales/marketing talk. you know, the whole let's just get this over and done! No, there was not a single moment where we felt like they wanted us to go home already. It never felt like they are doing it because they were "required' to do it. It was obviously purely out of love for their bees/ farm.
The good vibes were vibrating all over! From the owners to the flowers to the birds. And I think the bees loved us too. =)

Sir Rico, He is one brilliant man and we immediately respected him for his knowledge and passion. It's not everyday you still meet a Filipino like him. Not only he clearly knows what he is talking about, we loved the fact that he is not just helping the Bee community, he is helping the entire country, yep the whole Philippines! What an inspiring man, a total advocate!

We felt like we were in a "business". Actually, it was as if you walked inside your Tito/ Titas home that you haven't seen in ages and there are your cousins greeting you with excitement. That's how we felt.

Just to add: His wife is lovely and his kids are very extremely nice and polite.

May God Bless you and your farm.

We hope to see you again soon..

Sincerely,
D and S: Your visitors last Good Friday, 2016

It was a great learning experience for me and my family. I used to be scared of bees. But after watching them closely as Mr. Rico Omoyon explained the bees' life cycle, roles, systems, etc. - I now appreciate them.

It was a great pleasure for us to be warmly welcomed by the owner himself, Mr. Rico Omoyan. Upon our arrival, we were immediately given a very insightful lecture on bees and its significant role in the ecosystem which we genuinely appreciate. Mr. Omoyan's passion to spread his knowledge on bees was contagious. We can feel the sincerity of his works by the way he talks and tours us around his humble bee farm. The visit became a form of short retreat from the bustling noise of the city. It reminded us of the beauty of living a simple life deeply connected with nature.

Apart from Mr. Omoyan's brief introduction on bees, we really enjoyed the tour around his farm. We were delighted to have tried edible flowers and plants along the way. It made us appreciate the value of sustainable agriculture, where the value of being resourceful became really apparent as we have seen how tires, old appliances, bottles, etc. were reused. Furthermore, we greatly appreciate the snacks and drinks that were provided as it perfectly showcases the beauty of his farm and nature in general.

It was truly a morning spent well! we would've stayed longer if we didn't have any other sites to visit.

Parents and educators should make an effort to connect our children with nature. Milea Bee Farm is a perfect venue for kids and adults to learn about bees and its significant contribution to earth. My favorite part was when Mr. Omoyon handed us the honeycomb and gave us a taste of raw honey straight from the hive! Everything was eye-opening and really inspiring.

We visited Milea Bee Farm for an interesting and educational day out from Manila and a chance to see a bit of nature not too far away. We got everything we wanted as well as a very warm welcome from Rico and Edilee. Rico invested hours of his time explaining all about the different types of bees - so fascinating! Every question we had was easily answered plus we got to sample every sort of edible flower or plant you could think of and get up close with the bees who were not at all aggressive!

We started with a much needed snack and drink after the long drive [it's out of the way but the map on their website is easy to follow] and then had a tour round the farm. Although we knew that bees are important pollinators we didn't know about all the varieties including the tiny little stingless ones native to the Philippines. At the end there are of course things to buy if you want - but no pressure. The stingless bee honey is amazing, couldn't resist that!

All in all it was a very pleasant day out and a pleasure to meet Rico and Edilee. Clearly looking after bees and educating others about bees is their passion...and it is so important for all of us. Now we know so much more...excellent job done!
