We had one night in this hotel which is above the train station and a large shopping mall. We had a large and very comfortable room and also enjoyed a cocktail at the bar on the top floor. The hotel has a number of restaurants and cafes and I would certainly recommend it as a place to stay in Nagoya.

first, how to get to the hotel. we arrived using the meitetsu train from the airport. take the escalator from the platform to the train gates. to exit, you can use the west side which has an escalator or elevator to the street level.
you will then see marriott right in front of you. once you enter, you may be tempted to take the escalator to the 2nd floor. don't do that. instead, go right and take the elevator straight to the 15th floor lobby.

the style of the hotel is european, which is a bit dated, as is the room.
I specified a non-smoking, feather free room. we arrived to see 2 small pillows on the bed looking pathetic. so I asked for 2 firm and 2 soft pillows, which arrived promptly. whether these were foam or feather I don't know and I didn't bother to inquire.

wireless internet is free. we ordered room service for breakfast everyday and it came surprisingly quick.

we took day trips outside nagoya and decided to drive. if you are doing the same, then you really don't need to be at this marriott hotel on top of the train station. however, if you do plan to take the train often then this is very convenient.

try to ask for a high floor. we were on the 39th and could still hear trains passing and the station announcements.
also, our room was facing southeast and the sunrise woke us up on the first day. make sure your curtains are completely closed.

This hotel locates at the top of JR station which is very convenient to everywhere. But...need to change lift at the lobby each time you go out. Breakfast not much special & be prepare to line up for around ~10 mins.

Luxury hotel, considered 5 stars, clean, good service, overall stay is comfortable. Convenient location for JR.
Higher floor will be better so that you can see a beautiful view for the city.
Will come back to stay this hotel if ever going back to Nagoya again!

On top of the main train station, the hotel's location couldn't be any better. However, the hotel itself is very average with small, slightly dated rooms. The wifi broke for quite a long time and it's a pain to get up to the hotel sometimes as the lift can have a queue.
