Drive about 5 km south on the Carretera Austral until you see a sign wi a couple of flags on the left of the road, and turn off there and drive down to the lake. There you can book a boat (or even canoes) to visit the Marble Caves, a highly unusual structure created by nature along the shores of the lake. The visit takes about an hour, the captain gives plenty of time to see and fotograph the beautiful structures. The trips may be suspended when the weather is too stormy.
Pleasant two hours on the water getting close to the marble caves and formations along the lakefront.
A group of three of us booked to kayak over to the Marble Caves with El Puesto Expediciones. We two guides for just the three of us, and they were great.
The caves themselves are beautiful, and we had plenty of time to paddle around them and explore the different formations.
This it was my first thought when I arrived to the Marmol Chapel, it's really impresive, the brilliant and contrasting colors, the strainght of the nature, the texture of the stones, rocks of the "young" marmol.
The water was a glorious turquoise. The marble caves captivating. Water was rough with lots of waves and spray, but we had fun. The guides were helpful and we were so glad that we went.
