Owner description: In 2007 the Taiwan Cultural-Creative Development Co. Ltd assumed responsibility for the renovation and operation of the Park and renamed it Huashan 1914. An organically creative environment has been growing ever since. Huashan 1914 now serves as Taipei's primary creative arts center and a hosting ground for Taiwan's most significant cultural activities. Examples include the Simple Life music festival and the BiBo student design expo. Today Huashan 1914 is not only the heart of Taiwan's creative pulse, but also a bridge to a unique architectural past.

The shops are a washout. Some of the art works were beyond me. But there are some gems - like the toy shop and Starbucks display. I reckon the best time to visit is in the evenings when it's not too hot. You can easily spend up to 2hrs loitering at this place.

This is a cool and artsy place to have a cup of tea or coffee and people watch, or watch a movie, or have a pic nic in the grass. Its not so busy during the day or when the weather is not good (then it feels a bit like a "ghost place"), but in the early evening on a sunny day its a pretty cool place to spend an hour or two.

A place with different exhibitions, make sure you search online and see what they have. Some exhibitions do charge an entry fee. They have a movie theatre as well, you can spend time to enjoy if you have time.

There are many, many things happening here, but you need to know what is going on (or what is NOT going on) before coming. To give you an example, I went there several times for yoga shows - once everybody who could do handstand had to do it, there were hundreds of people upside down! -, once for a movie and once for a concert of Lara Liang, a very good Taiwanese singer.

Apart from these events, there are souvenirs shops here, a movie theater, several cafés and a restaurant. There is also a couple of green spots where you can play with your children or just chill out.

Ok, I was disappointed with this place. I think i came too early, because everything's closed. (Or maybe they're closed on weekends? Dunno.) I read that they hold events here and there was one on the day I went. I assumed it's like our version of ToyCon here in Manila. There was a lot of people on the east side of the park so I wasn't able to take photos in that area. I was actually looking for the upside down. I rounded the place twice but didn't see it. I think it was just there for a specific event or exhibit. Other than that, there's really nothing much to see. I left the place disappointed and at this point, it started raining for real.
