“A different kind of night market in Taipei~”

Liaoning Street Night Market
Attraction details
Reviewed 25 June 2017

Decided to drop by this nightmarket for some dessert before we got back to our airbnb which is 10 mins walk away.
If you are planning to visit this place, it is very important to tell yourself that this is no 'nightmarket' like those popular ones in Taipei (such as Shilin, Ningxia, Raohe Street...).
In terms of both size of the whole place and shops diversity.
We got there at around 10:30pm and found out that this is literally just A street which have different restaurants and some street stores along the road.
We aimed for dessert and turned out there was only a dessert 'kiosk'.
But anyway, we still got what we want and went home.
Since we went to Ningxia Nightmarket the night before and had lovely desserts in the Traditional Tofu Shop, the same dessert dishes from here can't compare at all, not too bad but just cannot compare...

So if you are really looking for some 'wow' experience in Taipei nightmarket, this one is definitely not on your list.
But if you simply want a place for some food or snacks and your place to stay or previous spot happens to be nearby, it still worth going. =)

I live close to this night market and go there once in a while with my wife to get some steamed corn on the cobb. It's not the best night market in Taiwan but it does have some restaurants and things to go to...it's a very short night market (less than 1 block long)

This is a very small night market with only few options to get food. However, in our opinion, the food was mediocre. But the fruit shop has a good choice and good quality. We recommend visiting a bigger night market, e.g. Shilin Night Market.

It was disappointing to note that Liaoning Street Night Market is more of a good street than a night market. There were numerous stalls and restaurants by the roadside. It's not similar to the more popular night market such as Shilin, Raohe, or NingXia.

Calling it a tourist attraction that you want to take a taxi or the subway to go and visit would be too much, but if living nearby anyway and wants to either eat or watch local Vietnamese food, it is clearly worth a visit. Atmosphere is relaxed yet quite busy. Expect food and almost nothing else, correct name would be street food market.
