Changing of the guard is the highlight of this attraction. Not much else to see unless you have a personal attachment. A couple of minute bus ride from the MTR station.

A shrine to Taiwan's war dead that doesn't take long to visit. Worth visiting but do yourself a favor and read some about the history of the country before you visit. The crowd pleaser is the changing of the guard and the crisp drill and ceremony of soldiers guarding the shrine. Please show due respect for the deceased. Not close to the metro. We took about a 10 minute bus ride from the nearest metro stop.
After having seen the changing of the guards at the Chiang Kai-Shek memorial, we didn't rush to see the same thing here even if the choreography is impressive. It is touching to see how this homage to Taiwan's heroes is presented like a temple, a fitting shrine to those who died for one's country.
I visited this place right as the guards were changing. It is a long process as they walk (very slowly) from the entrance gate, to the shrine and back again. You can follow them and take photos along the way. At the shrine, they stop and have a little ceremony. You are not allowed to get to close and there were men standing nearby to ensure you kept your distance. The shrine itself is very beautiful. I think the best way to get photos is to wait for the changing of the guard as most people are focused on them and gathered in one area so they are not in your photos.
Very beautiful building and the entrance where the guards are we were lucky to see the changing of the guards
This shrine is dedicated for fallen heroes and fortunately when we reached there, they were having duty rotation of those guarding soldiers. Every steps was full of commitment and paying respect to those fallen heroes... we were all amazed by their dedication. .. their special marching style... their discipline. .. really you got to see those Man in Uniform displaying their warior prowness....
Well, other than that, this shrine has nothing to offer... ☺
