Pleasant stay @ Best deal

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Nov 27, 2018via mobile
Spacious rooms, hallways & bathrooms

Staff are approachable & always willing to assist be it in-room requests or travel inquiries.
Very generous with their Unlimited access to Water, Tea, Milk & Coffee.
They could improve on their Breakfast buffet selection. Choices are wide but mostly tofu or porridge. We just usually had noodles & sausages as everything was tofu.
Location is great, walking distance to the Ximen entertainment area & accessible by train or bus.
Kids were comfy so we recommend for families.
They made our stay in Taipei worthwhile.

We had to stay in this hotel due to some pitiful incident. The location is great and you have pretty much everything near by. However horrible hotel stuffs, most of them dont speak english, room is not good. We choose non-smoking and found that everynight we could smell cigarette from other rooms nearby. Dont stay if you have other choices.

The female receptionist keep chasing us to check out at 9.30am when I approached her on how the hotel handle lost and found item. I asked her on how they handle lost and found but she keep asking us are we checking out, the receptionist didnt answer to what is asked, very bad attitude. Moreover, the female receptionist has hearing problem, I mentioned "shi wu = lost item" but she keep mentioned "shi wu = food".
Room 509 is small. When bathing, the water couldn't flow away, causing the foot soaked in the water throughout the bath. Bathroom handle even broken during the 2nd day, fortunately the maintenance team attend to the issue responsively. Free flow of drinks has it's limit, isn't free flow for 24 hours, has to wait until next morning only the hotel replenish the ingredient so that you could enjoy the drink. No scheduled maintenance to clear the used coffee powder, causing the coffee machine always out of order and lots of flies at the wintermelon tea machine.

this hotel is located near the ximeding shopping area just a few blocks away from the ximen station. just type it in on google maps and you're good to go.
the hotel gave us a corner room far from the elevator and it was amazingly spacious..the bathroom was pretty big too. but i think the walls are a bit thin since we could hear noises coming from the next room.
buffet food was great. it was unlimited but more on the healthy side e.g. toast, noodle soup, veggies and not so much meat.. you could also get coffee, milk tea, juice and water at any time of the day. my only problem with this hotel was that although they had a no smoking policy, the elevators reeked of cigarette smoke.

The rooms are decent, if you are expecting very comfortable beds and very nice rooms you will not get that here. The bathroom is pretty spacious, I stayed in a family room however. Breakfast buffet is good, and they have vending machines that serve up coffee, winter-melon juice and tea.

Regardless, the area it is located in is superb. The shopping district is less than 2 minutes away, and it has all the well-known brands (e.g. Uniqlo, H&M, Adidas, Nike, Watsons, Crocs, etc.).

Lots of food choices around the area too, make sure to try local Taiwanese food and bubble tea!

And before I forget to mention, there is a subway station that's less than 10 minutes away, so that is a plus too.

Although I can speak Mandarin, I appreciate how their concierge can speak and understand English rather well.

Kudos Diary of Ximen Hotel- Liu Fu branch, I have no qualms about my stay with you. :D

We stayed here for 3 days last week and we had a pretty good time. The best part of this hotel is its location! Since we brought our 2-year old son, we wanted to get a hotel that was pretty much near the shopping area, restaurants and convenience stores, and we got what we wanted! Just outside this hotel is a convenience store, and on the other street is the Ximending shopping area! We also appreciated the efficient service of their staff at the front desk who was eager to help us plan our itinerary, orient us with the MRT and our car service going back to the airport. They also have a wide variety for breakfast, although do not expect too much because their menu is pretty much the same everyday.

A few things we disliked about the hotel are their crowded elevators and our room was not sound proof as we can sometimes hear the sound coming from the other rooms, and the taxi drivers always had a hard time locating the hotel, we just always give the address so they can find it.

Overall, we still are satisfied with this hotel and we will definitely recommend this to our friends.

Room tip: If you are quite claustrophobic, then always specify that you need a room with windows. Some of their rooms have none.
