I stay in hotels up to 300 nights per year, usually Marriotts and Hyatts. Years ago I stayed about a hundred nights in Holiday Inns (IHG) to get their highest level, but then found the frequent stay benefits lousy compared to most hotels, and rarely used the chain anymore.
With a one night overnight in the Taipei airport, I decided to stay at this hotel because it seemed to be the closest US chain to the airport.
What a good result! The front desk stay was among the friendliest and most professional I have dealt with on arrival and departure both. Their English was excellent, and they did their best to get me in and out of the hotel efficiently.
The room was comfortable and clean. I will always stay here on future overnight transits in Taiwan! The taxi to and from the airport was about $20 US and took credit cards, so I didn't have to exchange money. The ride is about 20 minutes during non-rush hours but be sure to ask in advance of riding if they will take a credit card if that's what you want.
Kudos to the front desk staff and the hotel management.
