A friend saw this blossoming lotus flower in a hotpot on a TV programme and asked if we could go and experience it during our Taiwan trip in March 2015. Did some research on the internet and found the shop. Called up to make a reservation prior to our visit. The lady over the phone was very friendly. Overall, our dinner experience was a very good one. The staff were very warm and helpful. Very healthy hotpot with lots of greens and all kinds of vegetables. Although they have various types of meat and seafood pots, such as pork, beef and lamb, the portion of the meat is not very much. I would recommend this place for vegetarians or for those who loves greens, but personally as I am a quite a heavy meat diet person, this would not be my cup of tea. However, seeing the lotus flower opening up in the hot pot right in front of you is a special and interesting experience.

Entrepreneurial restaurant owner is a deaf person, because he agree with the idea of Hualien Fondue Restaurant headquarter for the deaf person and not be limited, to strive for the opportunity to join eventually break out, and then start to open restaurant, to create one of their own careers. "Fondue Restaurant" concept so less meat and more vegetables would be suitable for people who have more health concepts, and some wild vegetables can eat, things that are consumed there is no burden on the body compared. There are special All-Wild-Vegetables-you-can-eat, unlimited self-created, are regarded as less common to see vegetable spices. So really recommend you have the opportunity to give it a try, feel the restaurant's intentions, and good for their health care and environmental protection in vivo do indeed!!

First of all, it was established by a Deaf person who want to provide the most healthy food to guests as we are used to more junk food time by time.

What is more? The healthy food is so delicious as it is cooked through the hot pot. The hot pot is self-use not share-with-people!!

Also, the restaurant is Deaf Friendly that most of staff can sign in Taiwan Sign Language to explain all foods to Deaf Guests even Foreign Deaf Guests if any.

I strongly recommend this restaurant if you are interested in healthy food, Taiwan Sign Language, and Deaf people!

This is not your ordinary little hotpot, the kind you find at every street corner around Taiwan. It is a shop that specialized in "healthy hotpot" (養生火鍋). This means that in addition to the (large) basket of vegetables that comes with your hotpot, you can help yourself to as much greens as you like to eat, from a buffet like set-up. In addition to many choices of meat, you also get many choices of different broths! Their specialty dish is a hotpot, in which they put a flower, that "blossoms" through the contact with the hot broth. Very cool! All of their vegetables are extremely fresh, and I trust their vegetables are really organic and good quality. The whole shop just has this kind of quality feel about it.
The coolest thing is: the shop is opened by a mother and hear deaf-mute son, and most of their staff are also deaf-mutes, which they support, by giving them jobs in this restaurant. You can observe the staff talking to each other in sign language while enjoying your hotpot.
All of this is not even very expensive: a really generous amount of meat and vegetables and broth, incusive of all-you-can-eat greens, comes to a little more than 300 NT.
I highly recommend this place, and I think it is well worth supporting it!
