We read the fabulous food reviews and so visited the Corvus Inn whilst staying nearby. We had to sit in the garden as we had a dog. Well, I say "garden" but it was like a junk yard as the pictures Ive posted show. It rained heavily and the tented marquee didnt stop the water coming in, so we had to keep moving tables to avoid getting wet. There was rubbish everywhere. The whole area was tatty, including the outside of the back of the pub. The food was ok, although my chips were like "chipsticks crisps". Apparently they were new potatoes (for chips ?!) cooked in new oil but tasted purely of vegetable oil. Very strange. The chicken curry wasn't the best, very tomato flavoured, not an authentic tasting curry at all. The ribs were tasty and came with the tiniest amount of coleslaw and a heap of peas. £13.95 for this dish.
The only thing I can recommend about this pub is the friendly and helpful staff and locals that we met there. They shouldn't allow people out back until they have made it habitable.

Ok, I’ll try and address some of the points you’ve made
The garden…Sadly we employed a contractor to replace the whole border fencing in May(you can even see the new feather edged fencing in your photos) but sadly the fencing contractor has left us in limbo by not returning to complete the front or sides of the garden…hence the mess that was left…not an excuse, but due to a hectic summer we’ve found it hard to make time to try and remove debris..and we cannot afford another contractor(not sure if you’ve noticed but most public houses have been closed for the last 15 months with minimal funding)
The chips….firstly, we never said they were new potatoes, we said they were new season potatoes which weren’t colouring very well in new clean fryer oil?! We do know the difference and as you’ve forgotten to include it in your review, we did replace your chips with Pembrokeshire new potatoes when you were checked on by the staff.
The curry…again when the staff came to check on you, you should’ve mentioned you weren’t happy and we’d have either taken it off your bill or replaced it with something else..
The coleslaw…all you had to do was ask for some more(again when you were checked on by the staff!!!) and we would’ve given you some more at no cost..

Sadly you were annoyed from the outset that we wouldn’t allow your “pet” into our lounge, the same lounge where other diners were eating and you were given the choice of the bar or the beer garden…you chose the garden…
We are a dog friendly pub and allow well behaved dogs into our bar area or the garden, but for simple hygiene reasons don’t allow them into the lounge…
It was this refusal that you were aggrieved at,hence this review but regardless of this review, any decent person would/should understand our refusal for you and your dog into our lounge…

Had the best carvery ever. Huge Yorkshire puds, a selection of meats, leeks, cheesy cauliflower and proper gravy.
We sat in the bar and were served by Natasha who is fun and friendly. Amazing puds too if you have room.
We went back one evening and had a lively drink with the locals who were welcoming and chatty. Staropramen and cocktails on tap!
Well worth a visit

We booked in at the Corvus after finding it on trip advisor, we were not disappointed. Aaron the landlord made us really welcome and happily chatted to us.
The food was great and a really good choice on the menu, massive portions and home made chips, onion rings and more. Incredible value for money and a lovely setting. Don't pass St Clears and not stop, this is just the sort of family run pub we should support and treasure. I have saved it in the memory bank of great places to eat.

We visited this pub whilst staying locally with friends and I cannot recommend it enough. They are doing the outside up so we didn’t know what to expect but were so pleasantly surprised! We wanted to eat and watch the Lions and the football and we were able to eat fab pub grub and watch both matches as well as abiding to COVID regulations!

What also made it stand out were the staff , seriously they were great ,
Really efficient and fantastic way with the customers!
Would highly recommend and if we ever return to the area we will definitely return thank you so much

Visited here for the second time today. Very dog friendly, gorgeous piping hot food and lovely choice of gins. Covid rules and guidance were practised efficiently. Made to feel very welcome and we already feel like it is going to be our home from home local. Fab little pub and highly recommended.
