I was looking for something simple, tasty and quick, and that's exactly what I got at Ralph's. The coffee was quick and hot, and the standard weekend breakfast was just what I expected at a reasonable price. While this diner didn't blow me away, it was a dose of NS hospitality and certainly hit the spot.

Ate a late breakfast there today with my Buddy, Feb 4/18. Nice service, very homey which is hard to pull off with a newer building that is nice and spotless. Had the grill cakes and sausage. Would definitely stop here again when passing through. Prices reasonable and as mentioned, the place is super clean which I appreciate!

Stopped in for lunch on our way to sheet Harbour
Cheese burger was delicious! With huge amount of fries
Pan fried haddock was also good but would order fries over mashed potato’s as they were on the cold side
Overall a great lunch

If you're looking for a good home cooked meal or dessert, this is the place to go! There's usually a special of the day, could be meatloaf, pasta, etc...and there's always some good ole greasy deep fried dishes!! The clams and chips were very tasty, and lots of clams too! The Ship to Shore burger was massive! It was a seafood platter on a bun...wow!! Newly renovated and clean, service has been great :) AC inside and there is a big deck with tables and umbrellas for those who like to eat outdoors, enjoy!

We stopped in to Ralph's for supper while touring around the area. Upon arrival you seat yourself, view the menu and then whenever you are ready you go place your order at the front counter. The lady who took our order was very pleasant and our food was brought to our table promptly. Our group ordered 3 different dishes: First, a burger and fries that came fully loaded and was decent, despite being a bit pink in the middle. Second, a disappointing seafood platter that included a whole mountain of very overcooked clams (and many little bits of burnt french fries, despite ordering mashed potatoes as the side). There were only 3 tiny scallops on the platter and they were buried in the mound of misc crispy bits. The haddock, however, was lovely and fresh and saved the dish from being a complete fail. Our third order was a pan fried haddock dinner with mashed potatoes and veggies. The fish, again, was lovely. The potatoes, although plentiful, left a lot to be desired. The vegetable was about 2 tablespoons of canned green beans. We know it is often a gamble to order mashed potatoes and vegetables in a restaurant but the "home cooking" feel of this place had us feeling hopeful - let us save you the gamble here though, take the fries instead! We decided to skip dessert and carry on. Before we left we did mention that the clams really weren't satisfactory and received a genuine apology and 10% off the bill, which was appreciated. Overall the staff was friendly and it was a cute little spot, it was just disappointing that the food didnt match the rest of the experience.
