I have been wanting to visit the resort since I saw one Instagram account post a photo of their place. Visited their website and saw that the price was a tad bit too steep, until they came up with their February promo of 65% off on their room rates. The timing could not have come at a better time since my mom, who was back in the country with her US non-profit organization, just finished their outreach and medical missions in Cebu, and we could not wait to culminate it with a relaxing weekend after 3 months of planning and hard work.
Booking direct on their website was a breeze, and paid via PayPal. Upon arrival at their port at the side of Badian, Cebu, the security personnel assisted us right away in calling for the boatmen to help us with our luggages. We needed to use their boat to transfer us to Zaragosa Island, where the resort was located.
We were immediately greeted by Ronnel, who was their OJT personnel, with leis made out of the Kalachuchi flower, and with that top-dollar Filipino hospitality. He took us to the front desk where we met 2 more very friendly personnel who assisted us with our check-in (sadly, I totally forgot their names). We were greeted with a cold towel and their very refreshing welcome drink.
Everyone in the resort was so happy to see us and greeted us with big smiles -- from the porters, to the gardeners, the massage therapists, the restaurant staff, activities staff, everyone. Their resort was very clean and well maintained. Their rooms were also amazing. We stayed in their family room and their precise attention to detail was very well noticed by my family, as we are very critical to the little things.
We had our massages and a dip at their man-made Talaso pool. Their massage was two thumbs up. Their therapists were simply amazing. They even decorated a bowl of water with their flowers and leaves and placed it under the hole of the massage beds, so that we would be looking into the colorful flowers instead of their floor.
My family and I really had a wonderful time at the resort. And let me just add, the food was scrumptious! It was also reasonably priced considering that we did not really have an option to eat anywhere else but the resort's restaurant or room service.
It was a memorable stay, and I would love to bring my friends over for another relaxing overnight stay. Apparently, the resort has been around for 30yrs already, and I only heard of them early 2019s. I would definitely be back for more.
Thank you, Badian Island Wellness Resort!!
