Park is nearly on our doorstep. Has improved in recent years. Pitch & Putt course now run by Cheadle Golf Club looks nice, children's play area and BMX track available.
Small cafe with reasonable snacks run by Granelli family (great ice cream).
Hall now converted to Oddfellows Hotel, looks nice but food & drink seems expensive.
Council run park with unnecessary car parking charges that must put some people off.

Always great to go to a park that is always looking clean tidy and well looked after. Has a great little restaurant inside also.

What has happened to the running of the cafe?! So disappointed having enjoyed many visits to the park previously.

We popped into the cafe for lunch on the last day of half term. As every table inside was covered in dirty trays we decided to sit outside. We ordered our food including a child's meal deal that seemed reasonably priced. Had to go back and ask for the drink that came with it and then sat and waited. Started to notice our surrounding tables quizzing staff about how long their orders would be and then heard them asking over again and again. Eventually it was our turn to make the same enquiries as we had a now very hungry toddler and all our drinks were finished. We asked a young lad who came back and told us that the kitchen didn't know what our order was, even though we had been given an order number. We gave him our receipt to go back with and he returned to say 10 or 20 minutes as if it was no big deal. We'd already waited over half an hour. I went to ask another staff member who grumpily asked the kitchen but had to do so three times as he never came back with an actual answer.

My child's dish when it finally arrived was literally a sloppy bowl of pasta with possibly two spoonfuls of tinned tomatoes mixed in. Our food wasn't hot but we couldn't face sending it back.

When we came to leave I mentioned to the older lady on the ice cream counter who seemed to be in charge that it would be helpful to let families know in future if they are so far behind with orders and she told me 'that's not how it works here as people like to come and go'. People come in and either stay there forever waiting for their food or they go because they're so fed up!! And her answer made no sense at all anyway. I said I had seen nearly every table with food complain and she just replied, 'see you weren't the only ones waiting'!!! Just astonishing. She then expected us to buy ice creams, trying to temp us with the few flavours she had with no sense at all that we were unhappy customers. I informed her that we wouldn't be spending any more money in her cafe.

They have signs up to say that only well behaved children are welcome. I thought all the children managed really well considering how hungry they must have been - it their own behaviour they need to re-assess.

Loads of open space, ideal for the family games to begin. We went on a very hot bank holiday and you can still find plenty of space to play. Children’s playground is more suitable for toddlers, but our 6 & 7 yr old still found apparatus to play on, and loved taking their shoes & socks off in the large sand pit. Queues moved quickly at the ice cream / snack bar, and there was good variety.
