It’s just an average place serving average food. The mushroom starter definitely needs taking off the menu. The mains just about ok, my guess is they were microwaved. The waitress was very polite. Would I go back ? Answer is NO .

Been here for under a week and dined here twice. The restaurant is somewhat hidden, but follow the signs alongside the Diamont Blue. Good homemade meals, with fresh vegetables and gravy etc. Very reasonable prices. Georgina the lovely waitress looks after the diners well. Can thoroughly recommend this place for food that "mother used to make", but that never turned out this good!

I don't understand what other reviewers are raving about. The place is called Manhattan, very bland and basic decor including pictures of New York City attractions, yet the cuisine is British? The entrance to the restaurant itself is very unusual and upon reflection, the first impression was the same as the lasting impression.
The service was fine and the girl serving us was friendly enough but the food was definitely not up to scratch. My partner and I each had the mixed grill which arrived with missing items from the menu description, such as one egg and one sausage rather than two of each, no onion rings and what tasted like a pork chop instead of a lamb chop. The steak was ordered as medium rare but came well done. However, it was the amount of grease and oil that really did it for us. The side bowl of chips had to have been cooked in old oil as they tasted stale.

Like the title suggests, either we were unlucky visitors on that night or our culinary experiences and expectations are higher.

Visited here while on holiday and couldn’t fault the place, the staff are friendly with out being in your face, the food is delicious, traditional English fayre at good prices, portions are good size and they did a nice 3 course option for under €10, worth a visit if you’re in town.

Visited here last week on a word of mouth recommendation.
It is cheap and cheerful and the food is OK in parts but it just didn't do much for me.
My starter of garlic mushrooms was pretty awful - no garlicky taste at all. My wife's wedges were worse, dripping in greasy fat.
My main, to be fair, was OK - you can't do much wrong with chili con carne and boiled rice.
Decor isn't great and it's a bit like a work canteen.
Staff were friendly enough ladies. The menu is very much aimed at the English tourist looking for a taste of home.
