We stayed at this hotel at the beginning of January 2017. The rooms were spacious and nicely decorated, the swimming pool was lovely, the gardens and hotel grounds were just dreamy. Unfortunately most of the staff couldn't speak english and they weren't able to recommend any restaurant or activity nearby. If I had only rated the hotel and grounds I would have given a 4 or even a 5 but...

We were utterly disappointed when we went for a walk to see surin beach. The beach was nothing like the photos online. The attractive bars, restaurants and clubs advertised were not there anymore. Actually, the whole area around the hotel looked run down and there was almost nothing to do. In addition, a large volume of dirty water spewing out from a drainpipe directly into the beach was turning water brown. The beachfront was abandoned and full of trash. So, we could not swim and for that reason we didn't enjoy our stay there as much as we expected we would. I hope the problem is solved and the beach is nice and clean again. I wouldn't go back to this area...

Love the hotel and all staff was really attentive and helpful. Really nice honeymoon greeting. 2 min walking from the beach and there is a free shuttle anyway. Really clean and amazing ameneties. We enjoyed a courtyard deluxe suite garden view which included sea views as well.

Spending 8 nights at Ayara Hilltops, I was able to experience all that the resort has to offer. Like previous reviewers, I loved the outdoor shower, and tub on the balcony. Each villa has tropical outdoor spaces with water features either on the front balcony or in the back courtyard where the outdoor shower is. The superior deluxe villa higher on the hill had both. This meant the only sounds we could hear were the birds and waterfall sounds along with the waves on the beach. Sunsets were spectacular with the sun setting directly into the water in front of the resort. The restaurant and room service was excellent. Thai and western options with prices inclusive of ++. I personally thought breakfast was perfect. There is a huge selection of Thai and western options, and the chef cooks your eggs to order, even eggs Benedict and Florentine. The grounds and pool area are lovely. As all villas have a small tub on their balcony, I only ever saw 2 other people at the pool. The gym is very well equipped, clean and very well air conditioned. Try the spa, as the rooms and treatments were blissful. The staff very helpful and always smiling. I would recommend booking your villa through the resort website as you will be given a few extra perks you won't get booking through other sites. Overall, I cannot talk highly enough about Ayara Hilltops Resort. For couples wanting to escape the city and have a relaxing getaway, this is the place.

This was my first time getting away with my partner on romantic holiday and I must say we fell in love with the resort as soon as we arrived.
We arrived at 10.30pm, the lovely staff Jiraporn at the front desk greeted us with beautiful flowers and refreshments then led us to our private amazing villa.

We purchased the Deluxe courtyard, we would recommend for you to have a look at the floor plan on their website, you will be amazed with how meticulous the plan matches the room.
The view was astonishing and literally breathtaking. Being away from the City was the best decision we made booking this trip. I don't think I had better sleep in the last couple of years. It was peaceful and quiet as we booked the trip whilst it was off season (July). There were only a few couples at the resort out of the 50 villas.

Breakfast was a 3/5, the basic essentials were available such as; great espresso coffee, chefs cooking eggs to order, fruits, basic muesli, selection of breads and asian food.
The staffs were very accommodating and friendly.

The pool was lovely and clean. Fresh towels are available also when you wish to go to the beach. Also the lily gardens and beautiful greenery was refreshing to daze at. You might get some little visitors (Cedric the frog) guarding your water fountain at your villa's front porch.

Our booking came with 2x 1hr Thai Massages, we showered before then started and both laid side by side whilst we received our relaxing massage.
The gym area was great.

The Resort is only a quick 2 minute walk to the main Surin Beach, its a secluded beach with barnacles and large rocks on the side.

Local restaurants are nice but thats another review :)

Overall it was a very amazing trip and we would recommend for established couple who wish to spend quality time together. We will definitely come back to the lovely resort and will bring our friends with us for extra company. The staffs were so polite, friendly and helpful.

From our elevated courtyard overlooking the Andaman Sea, the Araya has been built with 'style' at the forefront of the design. This is further enhanced by the personal & sensitive service provided by the staff. The spa & massage facilities are a dream.
This hotel provided a very fitting finale to our Thai trip ..... a class location

Room Tip: Take your pick !
