The location of this hotel is amazing, it's literally a few minutes walk from the beach. It also is surrounded by bars and restaurants and a handy 7/11.

Tuc tuc drivers also all seem to know where it is, which is a huge bonus.

It took us over an hour to get here from the airport as we opted for the minibus (which is cheaper, but i wouldn't advise it!).

We were easily able to walk to far end of the beach from here and check out the other parts of Kata/Karon beach. It has loads of things to do nearby and even a tour desk right in front of the hotel.

The breakfast was a bit plain but it was better than nothing!

Finally, i do really want to thank the girl who greeted us first of all on the front desk ( I think her name was Betty!). She truly made our stay and was so amazing to us. It may sound silly but we couldn't believe just how nice and friendly she was and everyday she went out of her way to smile and wave at us and help us with any questions we had.

The hotel is overall fine. I booked it, because the hotel website said it was in Karon. But this is not true, the hotel is in Kata!!! I was NOT impressed by the nightshift staff who handled the check in. The two boys have never seen a hotel school from inside. No wais (Thai bows), no cold towels or welcome drinks. I expected them to bring my luggage to the room but they just pointed to the elevator. Room was clean, but toilet seat was loose and did not get fixed in ten days. Also, you cannot throw toilet paper into the toilet, they want you to throw it in the trash can.
The hotel has 95% Russians and so you have many Russian TV channels and only few others. Wifi is not free, but just buy a sim card at the airport and you are all set. The beach is ten minutes walking but during low season the tide is really bad and makes swimming a problem. Walk to Karon beach or take a tuk tuk to Kata Noi beach instaed. The hotel street has nice restaurants and massage salons, and an occasional night market.
The nicest hotel staff were Bowie at the front desk and the room maids.
The pool is long but very narrow. Also, you will see lots of rats running around the property, when you look from inside the pool into the garden.
Overall, for the price, the hotel is absolutely okay. Be aware, that Kata is very popular with Russian guests so all you will hear on the streets will be Russian and the menus and even shop names are in Russian, too. Kata is not a party city like Patong, but has some beer bars as well. Closing time for restaurants in September was around 11 though, so go out early!

My 3 night stay at the honey resort kata gave fantastic value for money at 850 per night with breakfast,, admittedly the buffet breakfast was average but I was given the option of room with breakfadt or room only when I e-mailed the hotel direct prior to arrival, difference in rate was 200 baht per day if guests want to chose room only there are numerous resturants to take breakfast outside the hotel, Agoda also offers rooms with or without breakfast, the room is fair size with nice decor, good size balcony with table chairs clean rooms with bath tub and over bath shower, empty fridge so you could stock it from the nearby 7/11, nice comfy bed, safety box in room, good wifi is quoted at 100 baht per day, staff were fine especially the helofull guy on reception and the lovely betty who allways greeted you with a smile, clothes rack in room for drying clothes on the balcony, swimming pool with sunbeds runs along the front of hotel with a little bridge to walk over to get to reception and rooms the pool is long but narrow with pool acces rooms for easy access to the pool, location is good with beach 5 mins walk away, kata noi beach was around 30 mins walk and karon around 50 mins away, kata is the better option of patong and karon with kata being less built up and less touristy and more family oriented and nicer of the three but beer bars close by for those who seek them,.
You can easily get to the Honey resort kata from phuket international airport about 45 mins by taxi or the far cheaper option of join mini bus at the exit doors of the airport for 200 baht.
Would stay at the honey resort kata on my next visit.

Great location walking distance to Kata and Karon Beach. We even walked to Kata Noi Beach, about a mile away. The room is very clean, a little dated, The cleaning ladies do an excellent job. Service is not friendly with the exception of the cleaning ladies and the young lady in the front that checked us in. She was very friendly and helpful but everyone else was really didn't acknowledge us because they were busy on their cell phones. There is no free wifi in the room, 100 baht per day. We didn't pay for it, but used it at all the restaurants and bars. It's a very calm area despite all the restaurants and bars nearby. We didn't use the pool, which is very narrow (more like a fountain) and it is located along the lobby.

The hotel is located at an ideal location at Kata Beach. It is near many restaurants and is reasonably quiet at night for those who prefers a good night sleep. It is also located about a 5 minutes walk from the weekly Monday night market. The staff in particular Betty was also helpful and provided tips on our stay in Phuket unlike the other staff who were not willing to accomodate. Nevertheless, it was a good hotel for the price paid.

The wi-fi is not free. We have to make payment to use the wi-fi despite the description stating that there is wi-fi. Additionally, the hotel policy is strict and we are not allowed to request for even an hour late check-out. A charge of THB100 is imposed for every hour of late checkout.
