To start with, it is the closest peak of height about 3700 mt ASL from Delhi, just about 350 kms via Foothill town Nahan in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Choordhar Peak is highest peak in region and one need to trek about 13-14 KMs from small Hill town Nauradhar. Trails starts with green woods, and not so easy trek/hike but beyond first 3-4 KMs it becomes flat terrain for a couple of KMs, and further hikes to gain 3700 mtr from 2100 mts at Nauradhar. Top has Lord Shirgul (Shiva) temple, and a Dhamramshala who provides you food & night shelter during summers. This peak is best place to see / enjoy snow as it gets snow during all winter months Nov - Mar, so during December to Feb this trek is closed due to heavy snowfall. Lord Shirgul Temple at Choordhar Peak is also very frequently visited temple in the region.
Awesome view from top are just mesmerising as in bright sunny weather you see good view of the Himalayas in North and green valley and smaller hills in south. Overall a very good experience, with nature all around. The top hilly region is very wet due to height and own weather system, this area gets good amount of rain through out the year.
