Absolutely not a bad choice.
Beds are good, rooms are adequate, bathroom is ok, pool is fine.
But why, why must they play music all day and night?
Why is silence so overrated.
Maybe that is the question on the whole island, people bringing their (huge) speakers to a beautiful beach to pollute it with their noise and there's no escaping it.

So after breakfast, we chose to escape the 'music' at the bar/pool area (that would sometimes only bring the sound of the bass, thump, thump, thumping away, and head of for more tranquil places.

It did stop at night so sleep was never a problem.
If you have kids and don't mind noise, this is an excellent choice. There were a lot (and I mean A LOT) of kids running around.
If you want to enjoy some peace and quiet, stay away from this place.

Hello all, if you're looking for a terrific, quiet location, search no more....this is it.
We booked here again on our second visit (Dec. 2016) to Martinique because we loved it so much the first visit (Feb. 2016). Fabulous staff, fabulous dinners and kudos to our Chef, for his creativity with local flavors! The only complaint I can lend the second time around is if your looking for quiet, don't stay on the weekends as they fill up with weddings and celebrations. We were up til 4 am with the young partiers next door and downstairs from us both Fri and Sat nights, even though we asked the desk to look into it. Sadly we had to cancel our early Sat morning plans as we didn't sleep!

Room tip: I gave them an average for noise level as weekends are loud, but mid week is quiet!

Well the hotel has a lot of potential but quite a lot flaws that make it impossible to give 5 stars. The rooms are very simple and cleaning is not in the price included. The food at the restaurant is not worth trying as it is not fresh at all.

BUT: This hotel has the best staff! We have seen many hotels on Martinique but this one has the best people working for it. The receptionist gave us everything we asked for, were polite and super helpful even when we complained about things we didn't like. The barkeeper makes the best drinks and the whole atmosphere is just very friendly.

The pool area is quite nice but the biggest asset of the hotel is its location. Just one minute away from one of the best beaches on Martinique.

For us it was one of the better hotels on Martinique. To get the best rate, write an email to the hotel - I would suggest a panoramic Room as they have partial sea view.

The Marabou is a little bit remote set amongst the sugar and banana plantations in the south of the island - one needs transport to explore. There is no beach here, just a little landing stage and some rocks but the position is beautiful. However, one can just relax in one's comfortable apartment and enjoy the sun and silence (apart from the crickets and tree frogs at night). The dining is limited but takes place on an open veranda. Breakfast is a delight as one helps oneself from the buffet and looks out from one's table towards the sea or gardens.

Room tip: Away from the dining area as they play music at night

We spent three nights last week there. Just want to add some support to some earlier reports. Yes, it is off the main road, which is rough but I found worse roads. The beds are comfortable, it is quiet, except on Sunday's. The breakfasts were good but I would avoid the dinners, so we would go out for lunch and have a light dinner in the room, from our frig. Overall it is a very clean, modest hotel and a good value.
