I highly recommend this restaurant. It oozes charm as it is a Palace - it has a wonderful gardens to explore.

The food is also extremely tasty and served elegantly as one would expect from this type of venue.

Beautifully presented cappuccinos served on a tray with biscotti and a small glass of water.

It is also a good experience to eat inside as well but if the sun is shining, I recommend outside.

They have gluten free bread.

One of my all time favourites. Highly recommend.

I am on a flying visit to Malta and wanted to take my 3 Aunties to lunch. I fully accept that errors can happen (our order was not given to the kitchen) and after a 75 minute wait our lunch was served. 3 of the meals were outstanding, regrettably my spaghetti was barely cooked and I returned it and declined the offer of ordering another meal as everyone would have finished theirs by then. We had to ask for cutlery, one portion of fries had to be chased up , no one took our wine order - the wine menu remained on the table until the end. Our table was partially cleared and again we were left for about 30 minutes. No one came to clear the remaining dishes, ask if we would like dessert and coffee (which we did) but the waiting staff were busy laying up empty tables next to us whilst ignoring us.. I had a private word with the Maitre 'D who was very apologetic and kind. However, the whole experience was poor, there was no attention given to our table. I have worked in the hospitality industry in the past, I know it is a balancing act of providing good service without being too overbearing but there was very little 'service'. Maybe it was because it was so busy, or they were understaffed. Was it because we weren't regulars or as 'well to do' as other diners? The Maitre 'D removed all the costs apart from the water and this gesture was appreciated but my little lunch, organised in memory of my mother (our last lunch together was in the lovely gardens) ended up being a very sad and disappointing occasion.

the location is magnificent . . . when in the street one cannot imagine how big and beautiful the gardens can be.
food is outstanding, though some items of the menu may sound very curious.
you may need to inquire on the exact opening hours as to avoid disappointment

once upon a time this used to be THE place to have lunch or a romantic evening
Now the lunch menu is completely unbalanced, not 'freshly' prepared the same day and the widely acknowledged delicious plate of sandwiches are no longer available
The evening menu fares little better save the 'Fois Gras' - can the Chef cook at all ?
The wine list sadly indifferent and neglected for years remains so
Quel domage !!!
