Wilderness lite... While they do close this area for bears every once in a while, it is generally accessible. The gravel road to get there is a bit of a pain, so be warned. But if that's okay, people of every age level with most levels of fitness should be able to make it there. Because there used to be a campground near the lake, there is currently a pit toilet, but never any paper. It makes a great final destination for most people, but for those with more fitness and adventure, it is a starting point for some very challenging scrambles (Fortress Mountain, Mount Chester, and Gusty Peak - do research these thoroughly, as scrambling beyond your abilities is very, very hazardous...). A short walk from Chester Lake is another excellent thing to see - Elephant Rocks, a really lovely rock formation just north of the the lake.
