We spent 3 nights at the Escarpment Retreat and were very happy with the resort, perfect for couples wanting privacy in a beautiful place. The rooms were large and very well maintained, you can build your own fire in your room which my husband loved. The meals to the room were really nice, we also had the massage package which was very relaxing and also used the onsite cinema one night which was really enjoyable. The walk to the back of the block has wonderful views that look back to the coast, perfect to take your bottle of wine and watch the sunset? All round a nice place to say, my only negative would be that the rooms are very dark but you usually don't spend much time in your room of a day as there is so much to do in the area.

This is a very comfortable inn on a gorgeous site, surrounded by beautiful grounds.

We are taking a mandarins road trip up to Cairns, and rather than stay in a typical Gold Coast 4-5 star beach hotel, we tried this inn. It was a great decision.

This is indeed more of a B&B than a 5 star hotel (think Ten Thousand Waves in Santa Fe) but with 5 star hotel level amenities. We were in one of the villas, which was comprised of a large bathroom with separate shower and large 2 person soaking tub, overlooking a private garden. Comfortable robes and toiletries are provided. While the bathroom decor is slightly dated, it wasn't a big deal as it was perfectly maintained.

The very large, vaulted ceiling sitting and sleeping room is broken up into a slightly elevated sleeping area and a lower, garden level sitting area with kit jetted off to the side. Very comfortable bed and linens, southeast Asian teak furnishings, and large doors and windows that open onto views of the gardens and forest.

Excellent breakfast, beautiful common areas and expansive grounds complete the overall package. We didn't try the spa, but it looked great.

Staff were friendly and very helpful.

The surrounding area is also worth the detour, and a very nice change from the coast.

Thank you for deciding to take a detoir/detour. We are very pleased you enjoyed your
stay with us and your visit to our beautiful mountain. All roads may lead to Rome as they say but some are far more enjoyable than others. We were very happy to be part of your journey. Your enjoyment is our reward.

We had a wonderful stay at the Escarpment Retreat. The suite was very spacious, and we really enjoyed the sitting area, the massive bathroom with the great view from the bath tub. We truly felt as if we were in the middle of the woods and miles away from any town. Listening to the birds singing in the morning was priceless. The ability to select DVDs in the lobby for the evening was great, and the breakfast was wonderful.

Absolutely loved the escarpement retreat, our accomadation was nestled next to a water pond and stream which made for a very relaxing enviroment listening to the water run over the rocks and the crackle from the real fire place. My partner had one of the best massages they have ever had and the included breakfast was yummy and filling. There are many little walking tracks on the property all with beautiful gardens and views. We found all the staff to be friendly, professional and very helpful. I wish I could of taken the bed home with me, so so comfortable.
