Where to start? We had an "interesting" stay here, for 6 days - when we arrived we didn't know how we would make it through the week here but we did. We arrived from Athens and were looking forward to island life but we were very disappointed when we got to the hotel.

Let's start on a positive - the only good thing: the view. We had a breathtaking view from our balcony terrace over the Saronic Gulf and Piraeus. This makes up for a lot but sadly not everything...

The hotel was EMPTY when we arrived, we were the only guests and the owner waited for us at the door when the taxi dropped us (more about transport later). We were greeted by the owner's little dog, which was nice. We checked in and had to pay in advance (now we know why!). It was a bit awkward and we felt like they wished we hadn't shown up so they could close for the season.

Up to the room (only stairs as it's a typical local stone building) and the floor was still dirty/wet so the owner asked the cleaning lady to fix it. We had to leave the key with the owners during the day and keep it with us at night. The view was great (although the balcony didn't get much sun) and that was about it. The room was old, with almost no comfort, a very old TV that barely worked, a very small and uncomfortable bed and mattress and a little desk and a closet. The worst was the bathroom, with a tiny dirty old shower with a NASTY CURTAIN, the water tasted horrible (when brushing teeth, did not risk drinking it), the tap sprayed water all over the place up to the toilet, warm water was not always working and we could not flush the toilet. This is something typical in Greece and there are places where indeed you can't flush because it would clog up the septic tank, but in a HOTEL ROOM? Needless to say, we did flush every so often but the flush did actually not even work properly and we had to fix it ourselves every time. Clean towels were not standard, we had to ask for them and sheets were changed every 3 days! Our balcony/terrace was not cleaned once. Not what we're used to at a hotel, even if it was not very expensive, it was much worse than you would expect.

The wifi worked randomly, more often not or very weak.

Mosquitoes kept us awake at night as well, although this is not the hotel's fault. Just make sure to have a spray with you to keep them away.

Breakfast (buffet) was pretty elaborate, quite some choice and the first day we were asked if we wanted fried eggs. We declined as we were alone and felt a bit awkward if the lady would make eggs just for us, but the second day she had made fried eggs in advance so that was nice. The buffet was similar every day. The coffee was disgusting. We sat in the veranda the first day but the next days we decided to take the table at the edge of the water by the pool with a wonderful view.

The pool was FREEZING and DIRTY. They didn't bother cleaning the pool for us (their only guests) until we decided to sit by the pool one afternoon and they started cleaning it while we were sitting there... Then when other guests arrived (first 1 room then a second) our second to last day, all of a sudden the pool was cleaned every morning! Breakfast also became more elaborate and service in general picked up, like it was not worth it to do it for us but now that there were others they had to... After the other guests had arrived, they also turned on music in the buffet area which was never the case before. We were a bit offended by the difference in service.

Overall the owners/staff were not friendly at all, everything seemed to be too much (even asking about bus stops for instance) and the atmosphere was very awkward.

Location - Souvala is not well-connected (only a couple busses per day in both directions on the island, all before the afternoon) especially in off-season and it makes it hard to move around Aegina. We chose this place because of the beaches, while Aegina Town is more animated... All in all we managed to visit most of the island by bus, taxi and a quad we rented from the hotel, but it was a bit complicated. The quad we got was old, the tyres were slipping and it stunk of gas, but it did the job for a day. In Souvala there is not much to do but in the end, it's one of the nicer towns of Aegina as far as authenticity and local life (not many tourists at all) along with Perdika (where there are basically no hotels).

Beaches - the hotel owner said there were 2 beaches, but really there was just one. The first "beach" was a bit of sand, full of garbage (as many beaches are on the island, again not what we're used to) and some tables of a local cafe across the street. The other (real) beach is actually quite nice for Aegina and probably the better one to swim (aside from Marathonas where we had bad weather unfortunately) so we spent quite some time there and it's a short walk from the hotel, through the small harbor. There are even beach chairs (from another hotel or residence as we understood) that you can use if available and nobody complains. So the beach-wise let's say the location was ok but not spectacular.

Supposedly this is a perfect little romantic hotel, but it's definitely NOT the case. The rooms are old, the bed is horrible and the bathroom just gross. Yes it's inexpensive (for Europeans) and you would say "you get what you pay for" but here it was not even worth half of it!

We, my sister and her family and I have stayed in this hotel (unfortunately chosen by ourtravel agent) on the 16th of September in apartment with 2 bedrooms, for 1 night stay. It was the worst treatment that we ever had specially in Greece. They don't know their job, the hotel was empty and we made our reservations before 2 months of our stay, and they didn't find it first until I showed them . And then tried to change from an apt to 2 separate rooms. And the owner who was not Greek, was soo rude and unprofessional and the worst was that they asked for payment although the payment was made on july 2017. The hotel is situated in almost deserted area and no beach access. Worst hotel ever and worst treatment. Not recommended at all.

fabulous small hotel, in wonderfull position, with lovely owners/staff.
Nice pool area (crystal clear water) and stunning views, not just from our room but from many public areas
A pool bar and evening entertainment with good quality drinks and excelent music selection,
Great buffet breakfast. .
Brilliant service from the moment we arrived.
Unfortunately there was a thunder storm when we visited (normal off course in Greece on Novenber and no its not the hotels fault ...)
Despite this, we had a really wonderful experience, which was all made possible by the owners.
Nothing was ever too much trouble and everyone really went out of their way to make surre our stay would be as enjoyable as possible.
Will hopefully visit again soon.

We stayed in this small and cozy apartment hotel for 3 nights in September, and loved every minute of it. It's beautiful, clean and comfortable, yet very affordable. The owners who also operate it are warm and friendly people, who were also very helpful with info and recommendations.

It's located on a cliff, facing the sea, in a short walking distance from Souvala's bay, where there's a small beach, cafes, restaurants, a supermarket and several other stores.

Our room (and all rooms if I'm not mistaken), had comfortable beds, a private shower, a refrigerator and a great balcony with gorgeous view.

The breakfast is basic but good. We also ordered some courses from the extended menu, which were really good, plus coffee and some refreshments that were sent to our room, for which we payed a ridiculous sum of money.

There's a pool which is small but nice. The dinning area has a large balcony with the greatest sea view.

All in all, we had a great time there and strongly recommend it.

I called this hotel to make a reservation for a double room a few weeks back. They claimed to have a room and asked me for a deposit to secure the reservation. I live in NY and wiring a deposit to Greece is expensive so I offered to give my credit card details. They refused and asked for cash. I naively agreed and sent cash to the hotel, followed by an email asking for a confirmation and a receipt to secure the room. In response, the email I got said there was never a room available on my desired date, and they would return my money back when they received it. Needless to say, I never got my money back. I called several times and they claimed they never got the envelope with the money. Not only that, but the lady on the phone was rude and unprofessional.
This hotel is not to be trusted!
