Nice hotel recommended it to friends happy place and very friendly staff, had a lovely week. We did not go with children but we would love to take our grandchildren there. We would return in the future

Room Tip: We were in block 6 which was in the middle of the reception and the pools

We arrived at the hotel at around lunchtime, we were lucky as we were on the first coach to leave the airport and one of the first to arrive at check in, Check in was quick but not over informative, we were given a map and directed in a matter of words to our room which was ready, our cases were given to waiting porters who were to deliver to the rooms, the cue behind us at reception was now quite large, we were in Block 7 and did get a little lost at first, as the hotel is spread over a vast area.
The room was clean and a good size if a little dated looking, white walls would help. There is a safe and a fridge, and a few toiletries.
Our cases arrived a few minutes later.
There are 11 pools in total only 1 heated though which does get quite busy but you could get sunbeds at any time of day.
Pop, beer, wine and water are self serve in the pool bars, spirits are behind the bar served via staff
Pop, beer, wine, water and hot beverages are self serve in the Pizzeria as well as snacks served from 12.30 to 6 serving Pizzas, burgers, hotdogs, chips, salad, ice cream etc.
Main restaurant is quite big and spread out, we never had to cue but we went for food as it opened, it did get quite busy later on in the evening, food is plentiful with quite a lot of choice, drinks are self serve for Pop, beer, wine, water and juice.
The entertainmet was very popular but we didnt really watch much of it, there are plenty of areas to sit for a drink etc, you did have to cue occaisionally at the bar but not for long, there was a good choice on the all inclusive section (mainly local varieties) we didnt find any problems with the drinks especially as they do Gluten free beer which suited my husband although you do have to ask for it as it comes in bottle format.
The only critisism is the level of comunication, there was a very large percentage of English there but the staff do have alot of language issues and dont always understand you at first and when the hotel has a check in day they dont leave a portion of reception for residents to go to so they seam to have to cue up with all the check ins
All in all we had a fantastic time at this hotel as we went to relax and the mountain/volcano views are fantastic
Would we come back to this hotel.........well..... yes we definately would

We have just arrived back from a 10 day holiday at this Hotel. Initially from first impressions the Hotel and surrounding gardens are AMAZING !!! Truly !!!

However, that is where the good times end. How to continue?

OK. Diplomatically continuing....

The Animacion / Entertainment staff are great at trying to keep the good times going, but even their material appears dated and desperate. They need time to bring it into the 21st Century.

The poolside bar staff are very helpful and always try their hardest.

The Pizza Restaurant is excellent, worth eating there...

BUT........

The blurb advertises 11 pools. That is indeed correct. However only 1 pool is heated to a normal level, the 10 remaining pools are uncomfortably cold, remaining on the whole empty on our stay.... The families / entertainment team centralise around the heated one leaving no room for anyone who fancies a dip to cool off.

The evening entertainment is varied, on the whole good. What fails at night time? The sound system aims outward and not all around. If you sit to the sides, you cannot hear the shows. The lighting system is aged and also needs an upgrade. Whilst inside, we noticed that there are bare wires hanging from the ceiling (from lamps?) hang loose and caused me some concern.

What also is wrong in the entertainment area is the end of show 'Disco' which appears to be lackadaisical at best. I also noticed the bar staff saw this opportunity to drag the chairs around to make it known they wanted to go home and made us feel uncomfortable even though their was a good two hours before the bar closed.

The worst thing of this FOUR Star Hotel is the food. The main restaurant is above the reception and many other have commented about this area. It is not 4 Star dining, there are some Rude unhelpful staff there who also have been written about before. At best - could be described as a cafeteria / school canteen. Not a restaurant. The choice of food is not ideal and therefore the Pizza restaurant by the poolside for us proved to be the better option.

Many of our meals therefore were taken at the 'La Choza' Restaurant - which was not as manic as the main restaurant and the food was marginally better. The staff here were more friendlier and helpful. The evening BBQ here was much better to sit beside the sea to watch the amazing sunsets.

The Room was nice, comfortable and cosy. the Bathroom was clean and in excellent condition.

My advice would be to read ALL the reviews first BUT take note !!!! It is a very hilly resort and those with mobility issues may find it difficult to get around. I had a knee injury whilst there and I was suffering. Take advantage of the Bell-hop guys with golf carts.

All in all a very relaxing break for the money, but improvements could be made. Just make sure to pack plenty of books and puzzle books as outside the resort, there is nothing around except Banana plantations.

Room Tip: La Choza and the Pizza Restaurant are the places to eat

Stayed here for a week from 22 March 2018 and had a really nice relaxing time. It is difficult to fault anything, except that it's a very remote place, with no short walks to a town with a few bars and restaurants etc, so if you wanted to go off and watch some footy at a local bar, or perhaps eat out close to the hotel, you can't. The complex is beautiful, with many quiet relaxing areas to chill out and relax. There is only one heated pool, where they do all the poolside activities, so that pool is usually quite crowded, whereas the rest are very quiet. We had a ground floor room in block six, which was roomy and well appointed. The walk from the apartment to the pools was easy, but the walk back to reception and main restaurant was quite hilly, for anyone with less mobility. Free Wifi was available in the reception area, as in many hotels. Staff and animation team are excellent. All in all, a very nice break and would recommend and return.
