Southwest Mauritius Day Trip: Chamarel Waterfall...

Seven colours is not much to see. Some sand with different colours. Tortoises live in a mud and do not move at all. A lot of mosquitos on the area..

This is Good for a quick visit and photo opportunity but I am sure there must be other similar places in the world.

It had been raining when we arrived, and so the seven coloured earths all seemed to merge into a muddy brown. The waterfall here is lovely, lots of water flowing over it.

This was a complete let down. At the top of a large hill there is a pile of dirt and a cafe. It is a tourist gimmick and marketing trick to attract visitors. The waterfall nearby is decent though, but no need to go up the rest of the hill.

This is a true nature phenomenom. We shared the experience with hundreds of cruiser passangers. There were some heacy showers while we were there and I think that this dampens the colours.
