Dakak ......a Surprising Gate away.

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Aug 6, 2019
I and my family with friends were in Dakak for a gate away from the noise of Cebu City and for just stolen break from the weeks tiresome office work. We expected just a swim in the cool lagoon but Hooola..!! We were also treated to a wonderful Disney parade and wonderful night with rides and foods. We didn't saw it coming but we enjoyed so much the overnight experience at Dakak. We could not forget that and we plan to be back there before the end of the year.

We went to Dakak this June 2019. The road getting here is quite elevated so be sure your vehicle can cope up with the heights. Upon arrival at Dakak it has closed/guarded gate but just tell them that you will have a Day tour. Dakak resort lacks signages where to register and do inquiries. You have to be sensible in the directions or your lucky if you found some staffs roaming around so you could ask. Upon arrival at the information you have to pay entrance fee (for day tour you have to pay 1000) but 80% is consumable you can either use it in food/refreshments or activities. The activities in the resort is quite expensive, but the food is commendable since it is affordable. Your 800 will go a long way good for your whole day stay. There is no need to pay for cottage or bench. All of them is for free.

The beach is clean - white sand and the beach itself is calm.
There are also swimming pool in the resort some of them are exclusive only for the overnight guests. But there is a huge pool we accessed, it has slides which I enjoyed.
The swimming pool is deep, 5ft minimum depth. so be sure to bring floaters for your kids.

All in all, I like what Dakak has to offer :)

The staff were very accommodating and helpful especially the front desk and driver that gave us a ride to the restaurant coz' it's raining, the room was not that good because of the comfort room, the food in the restaurant was very good especially the "calamares" and their shakes, the view from the restaurant was very nice but, the when it rains, the tables and chairs were got wet and limited seats left to occupy, there were many pools to choose from kiddie pool to adult pool, the aqua center staff were very accommodating and very good in sales talking, the gears were stored properly and the place were cleaned. Recommended for day tour only for the locals and for those who travelers who loves aqua sports.

Room tip: rooms near the reception are not recommended for the oldies/pwds coz' of it's steep road

I booked 4 nights & it shows free shuttle. When i wanted to go out only covered 1 way, going back you are on your own. A lot of things to offer but not island hopping. I love the foods in Bamboo Restaurant. I wouldn't recommend & wouldn't coming back. Thank You

The rooms are old. The cable needed to be loaded. The food sucks. The price was steep. The tour was not well planned. Nothing else to do here.
Hongkong would've been a much better alternative.
What else can I say? Wont go back for sure.

We stayed in the Villa Angelina Luxury Suites section of the resort and were very satisfied.

We were collected from the airport in a very comfortable, spacious and air conditioned vehicle with posh bottled water on standby.

Jemuel was the Head Concierge and the person who took care of us throughout our stay. We had access to him 24/7 via text or phone call which was fantastic and he never once let us down.

The food on sight was very good; particularly the Japanese and Korean Restaurant (the name has escaped me but it’s a short walk from the main reception).

We were not interested in the exclusive entry to Fantasy Land (mini theme park) but it was nice to have the option. We just wanted to relax and unwind.

The hotel room was superb. First time I’ve ever had ‘free access’ to the mini bar’s contents! Bed was great and the shower was on another level. Hot tub on the balcony with a view of the ocean!

The only reason this isn’t a 5 star review is because our room had a MAJOR SECURITY ISSUE. In short, we were unable to lock our room or even engage the safety chain as both were broken!
Management was unable to rectify the problem during our short stay and fortunately we were not burgled. We did take some peace of mind and reassurance from the fact that this resort was very private and secure with armed guards at the gated entrance. However, I still would have liked a secure and lockable hotel room for the money we were paying.

Try the Zip Line and ask to go in a ‘superman position’. This was a very thrilling experience and worth every peso!

We missed the opportunity for a massage but were given a tour of the on sight Spa! One word: “Wow!” The services were expensive: P6000 package for two (massage, jacuzzi and sauna). However, the facility and view looked and felt amazing and next time we’ll certainly be indulging!

Overall, a fantastic stay and we had a lovely experience. Jemuel delivered first class customer service and we felt very valued. We will certainly stay again.
