Booked a table on a Sunday hoping for a roast. When walking into the pub heard some young staff outside laughing about there being no roasts left, swearing and making a few rude comments (not a good first impression!). On going inside we stood for a few minutes (while being ignored by staff) and after finally being greeted it was confirmed no roasts available, only pizza and fish and chips. Not one to grumble (and being lenient as everyone is adjusting to post covid life) we said that was OK and got seated. No mention of track and trace and no apologies or explanation for lack of food availability.
Fish and chips was almost inedible - soggy and tasteless. Pizza was advertised on menu as Arabiatta (hot) but tasted like a cheap pepperoni oven pizza, with no spice. I asked for a garlic dip and the waitress came over with a big grotty looking squirty bottle of garlic Mayo and offered to squeeze it on my plate as there was no sauce pots left (just weird and a bit awkward).
The food left us feeling sick and was absolutely not worth the price or the journey. The staff were uninterested and offered no apology or even asked how the food was.
After seeing this place being raved about about on social media, the conclusion is its definitely style over substance. We won’t be returning in a hurry.
