One of the things you will discover as you drive from Bolinao along the Patar Road to this resort. And that is, there are a lot of other resorts along the way but have either no listing or just don't advertise.
There's no doubt that Puerto Del Sol is the best of them. The garden layout, the pools, the bridge across the creek that takes you to the white sand beach, the meals and service were everything a person should expect for a place like this.
We stayed a week here and spent quite a few days just lazing by the pool, walking along the beach. The tide goes out so far that a walk to the water itself at low tide is a major hike. When the tide is out there are hundreds of rocks and rock pools to explore as well.
This place would be really jumping when all the accommodation is full. There were a few different standards available. There's a hammock near the pool that got a lot of use as well by us.
We did the trip to the lighthouse as well.
A couple of things you need to arrange if you're at Puerto Del Sol.
1. A reliable tricycle driver who will come when called. Pay him enough to sit around and wait for you. Or have a car.
2. Cash. There is no ATM except back in town. You don't want to be going back and forth there.
3. Take a trip by tricycle to the Enchanted Cave. Bring a swimming costume, you can get food there.
4. Take a trip to Patar Beach. The sand itself is worth it. the water crystal clear.
Quite a lot of exploring can be done. The coastline is great. Take swimming costume with you everywhere. There's a waterfall swimming hole nearby. You can do a lot of things around the area.
