Really enjoyed this trip. The 7 franc entrance to the museum is totally worth it. Very well done and organised. Its more about glass making at the site rather than history of glass making but very good. The optional glass blowing at the end is gimicky but still worth doing, and the entire complex is set in the most beautiful location

Very entertaining visit of a rustic glass factory. Hand blown glass demonstrations.
After the visit, you can go to shop and buy some of the unique pieces.

We spent half a day at the Glasi. The introductory show/tour about the history behind glass and the Glasi Hergiswil was interesting and watching the glass blowers at work was also pretty cool. Unfortunately, we didn't get to blow our own glass balls, since no one ever showed up (even though the sign said that they'd be back after a short lunch break). The glass labyrinth was expensive (5 Francs separate entrance fee), but was really fun and worth it for one time. The museum and exhibits seemed interesting and interactive but unfortunately we didn't have time to try everything.

We absolutely loved our visit to Glasi Hergiswil. While we know the area very well, we had never visited the factory or done the tour. We were impressed with the organized, informative visit which can be fun for the whole family.

Tours are self-guided or in groups; you sign up for a tour in your preferred language and then move through each of the rooms as an audio explanation explains the history of the factory and glass making in Switzerland. Displays and dioramas are detailed: the tour ends with a birds-eye view overlooking the glass blowing room where visitors can watch the glass blowers shaping, blowing, and putting glass into the massive ovens. Super interesting to see!

The building next store contains various interactive exhibits, looking at the science and history behind glass construction and glass shaping/contours.

Make a stop here on the Lake Lucerne - a lovely little outing for young and old!

We so enjoyed our tour of the glass blowing. We had never seen this before and it was fascinating. This is the real deal, and it is very kid friendly. There is a hands on area for the children. Very nice. Also very nice that we could purchase pieces after the tour. It was very nice to sit in their garden waterside and have coffee after our shopping. Plenty to keep the children interested. Good for families.
