I was very much looking forward to our stay at Sonnenberg and the experience was even better than I hoped. The rooms are clean and airy. The staff are pleasant and helpful. Parking is immediate and free. The hiking trails provide an excellent way to work up an appetite or walk off a heavy meal. The views are spectacular and ever-changing. (If you climb a few steps to the roof terrace on the incline rail station, there is a labeled panorama to orient you to the surrounding peaks.) There were morning rains during our May visit, so the terrace and playground were not being used.

Decent food and a great wine list were the gravy to a overwhelming view from Sonnenberg. Best would be to go there in warm weather so that you can enjoy the great terrace. There is ample parking space and the environment is calling for a digestion walk after lunch.

Very kind and friendly welcome and relaxed atmosphere for couples or families. Good morning today after the party of the new year...it was a perfect stay and a nice location with view of Luzern and mountains and a good breakfast!
