We were there an entire week. We enjoyed the beach, the lounge and great food and environment. We were always treated well by the door hosts, waitresses, waiters, desk and loved it. it was a great time. The weather was a bit cool, but was still fun. Prices were reasonable for everything.

Room Tip: Enjoy the entire hotel and resort, and the water rides and beach.

I have stayed at hundreds of hotels all over the world and never been so badly treated as at the moon beach hotel. We stayed at another hotel and was eager to try moon hotel pool, so we asked the front desk if it was possible. We got a price and said we would come back the following day.
When we arrived the next day we were stopped at the door of the hotel, we would pay a bathfee there and then anotherone up at the reception. When we asked why we would pay twice the guard mimicked us as if we were little kids, this in a repeated child's voice and an accompanying facial expressions. We had taken us there and confused we paid.
When we came up to the front desk the receptionist pretended she didn't know English, so she could avoid having to explain the guard's behavior.
Otherwise the young lifeguards around the pool where nice. My impression, moreover, do not go to this place, it is not the paradise you seek.

Value for money, good location, helpful staff, aged hotel room but very clean! Really enjoyed the stay! Every facilities need to pay to use. Sharing use of facilities with the moon beach hotel. I was happy to pay for the use of the onsen (public bath). Good clean hotel beach

Moon Beach Palace Resort Hotel, located just North of the midway point where the Island pinches to it’s most narrow, is actually two hotels in one. We went to the front desk on arrival and were told we were in another hotel. At first we thought we had been dropped off at the wrong place by the ‘Friendly Bus Shuttle’ service from Naha Airport (1500¥/ 45min) but then realized when the 3rd Floor desk attendant appeared we were in the right place – wrong desk. (The check-in is on the 3rd floor)
The room we were given (B-312) contained the requested 2 single beds (along w a comfortable washroom & fridge/freezer) but to our surprise was a much LARGER space than expected! A very pleasant surprise! Adjoining the bedroom was a shoji screened, tatami matted dining room and TV area. Off of that was a balcony with a fantastic view over the beach. The tatami room we used as our luggage storage/ dressing area.
The hotel has several restaurants and bar lounge areas, a convenience store, tons of water sport options, beach volleyball, gym, big outdoor covered pool, laundry facilities and a traditional Japanese public bath house (spa) separated by gender. It is also a pick up point for various island tours.
While the property is a bit dated in it’s décor and somewhat frozen in time, it is not shabby. If they renovated they would have to hike the prices up, making it inaccessible to many. We were happy with what we saw and it was very comfortable.
We arrived in rain on our first night and then day one, being gale force winds and horizontal light rains, we opted to go back to the hotel and spent the day waiting it out watching doc’s about Okinawa and Netflix on our laptop. Later we went down and enjoyed the bathhouse. Day 2 was a bit better weather, luckily we had booked a tour to the MUST SEE Aquarium (there are also 3 other stops which makes it an all day event). The rest of the days were beautiful. We rented a car for 24hrs and did the island WW2 Memorial sites as well as neighboring Ishikawa.
The restaurant strip, just beyond the hotel grounds, offers a variety of eating options. We had great meals every night!! There are several great Izakaya’s and be sure to visit Tsubaki, Shinka and Jam. (Tsubaki makes their own Awamori and Jam is a fun, quirky, teppanyaki restaurant)
The beach is large and sandy, the water calm, warm and shallow. It’s an idyllic part of Japan and especially Okinawa.

NOTE: this location is weather dependent. If it’s not beach weather, be prepared to rent a car, get a taxi or book tours to leave the hotel!!

Room Tip: Higher up and closest to the beach is best views

The Moon Beach Hotel could be considered a very good hotel if someone would take the responsibility to renew the furniture and the building in general.
Unfortunately everything seems to be frozen at its foundation era.
Many pros anyway: the cordiality of the staff, the beach is fantastic even if you can't swim in the sea after 5 pm, the breakfast is great!
It has also a not so big but beautiful swimming pool.

Room Tip: A suggestion: ask for a room in front of the sea.
