Called in for dinner on the off chance and we’re warmly greeted by the same lady we met 3 years ago while in Alyth. She’s a doll. Very homely person and very attentive. Our meals were served promptly and both steak pie and steak dinner were really tasty. Thanks to the staff also.

Tried calling in advance to book for High Tea but number wrong on FB page/website

Decided to have a drive to Alyth to see if we could get a table. Waited for about 15mins before we were greeted and seated. No set menu, only a buffet. Starters were good but main courses were very disappointing. Mac’n’cheese was dried up, curry was disgusting. Chicken & gravy was very watery. No roast beef but mince instead which was also very watery. Dishes weren’t replenished

Overall, the service was poor, food was very poor and we certainly wouldn’t return

Very friendly service and delicious (and good value) food. Currently the hotel is operating a buffet-style dinner. Food was very good quality (curry was especially tasty) and plentiful. Moreover the dining area has been decorated very tastefully, ensuring that there is a great atmosphere. Excellent!

We have never been to Alyth before. Post lockdown, didn't quite know what to expect. But found a wee gen in this hotel and bar. Dog friendly, lovely courtyard at the back of the bar. Friendly staff, scrupulously clean we had a drink in the afternoon and decided.to come back for dinner at night. Fantastic.value buffet , dad's pakora is simply brilliant as are the homemade sauces and pickles. Vurrys are lovely , euro dishes as well. Prices at the bar are enlightening for someone.used to paying City centre bar tabs ! Stuart , his family and team have only been here for a short.time but they seem to have a great balance between local.custom and visitors. We will definitely be back !

Room tip: Parking is.limited in the town centre. Be prepared.to.walk a.little

We were celebrating my partner’s 60th birthday and had booked a lodge a few miles away and had decided to stop here for dinner on the way, it was new owner’s and the menu offered two main meals for £15 which is pretty good value for a hotel, there were 4 of us, we had one soup and a sharing platter for the other three to start, this was amazing and very filling, for our mains we had two fish, one mac’n’cheese and a spicy chicken burger, this took a while to arrive as they were short in the kitchen (as it turned out a good thing), this was making us late for the lodge.
I rang the lodge to explain we were going to be late only to be told they had no record of our booking! When Stuart the manager came to apologise for dinner being delayed we asked about the possibility of two rooms for the night as we didn’t want to return to Glasgow in the pitch black, he sorted out two rooms for us and explained they had a nice outdoor bar area which was under cover and had a big log fire so we could have a little celebratory birthday drink, long story short we ended up staying for 4 nights (our original intention at the lodge), Stuart, Lewis and the team made us feel very special and bent over backwards to make our stay special, we will definitely be back in future as Alyth itself is a lovely village with lots of walks and other things to do, the rooms are all in the process of being refurbished, the two rooms we had were next door to each at the front of the hotel overlooking the burn and bridge to the village square, the showers were fantastic and a good size as were the rooms, what could have been a spoiled few days away were rescued and my partner was very, very happy with her birthday trip away.
