5 friends just did the ladies that lunch package. We absolutely loved it from start to finish. Pool was clean and nice temperature. Food options and quality were outstanding. but the main asset to the day was the friendly, accommodating staff.. we will definitely go back. . just 1 tiny observations, pks replace the dead plants with some new ones in the seating area...minor detail but just worth a mention.
Thank you for a fabulous day

We visited Angmering manor for lunch ordering from the 2 course menu. The food was delicious albeit the main course portion a little small but it was only £15.95 for the two courses. The staff where attentive but not over bearing we will definitely return soon.

Room tip: Parking almost to the main entrance door

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and found it very relaxing - the property is charming and comfortable. The dining area is lovely and tastefully decorated with outside seating and being able to use the pool is a real bonus. We booked a Superior room and were very underwhelmed by the decor. The bed was small and just had a duvet without a top sheet and the pillows were not great quality. The breakfast buffet could do with some tlc - the fruit salad consisted of solely unimaginative apple and melon. There was not much choice of cereals, no plain yoghurt and no bananas. The hotel was seriously under staffed. But to be fair, Jacob was excellent and always had time for the guests and sorted out any queries we had.
Having said all this we loved the location and the downstairs areas and would in all likelihood visit again.

Beds in room 101 - awful. At least 20 years old and as uncomfortable as you'd expect. Mentioned it and told that new Hypnos mattresses were arriving imminently (not in time for us) but as the hotel was full there was nothing they could do. One terrible night's sleep later mentioned it again to the front desk but not interested in helping. The women said she would 'pass on the complaint to the owner'. Overall feeling of staff's attitude (bar the older gent that checked us in) not interested in genuinely helping customers, more concerned with passing the buck.

Room tip: Ensure their new mattresses, supposedly on order, have been delivered.

We are locals and have eaten at The Angmering Manor a number of times. We have never stayed in the hotel and based on what we’ve seen, would not choose to (regardless of being village locals) but that’s just us… we have returned to the restaurant in hope of improvements but it’s always a really mixed bag…and unfortunately always something which spoils the experience… not sure we’ll be returning for a little while.

The garden and setting is lovely and it has all of the ingredients for a fabulous place but there are several things that let it down.

The menu is ok but limited - quality and presentation is ok. Food price is great but wine and champagne overpriced. If you don’t have an early reservation (eg. 12 or 12.30) our experience is that they run out of items on the limited menu very quickly and you can’t have what you’d like.

The front of house/ restaurant welcome is pretty much non-existent! Sometimes bordering on unwelcome of custom! Some of the waiting staff are a bit reminiscent of Fawlty Towers - our drinks have turned up half full several times as one particularly unwelcoming waiter manages to wobble half of them on the floor on the walk over to our table. We have been brought the wrong drinks or food on a number of occasions, the card machine doesn’t reach to the garden so payment can never be taken quickly or efficiently and you often have to wait a long time to pay, tables are often slow to be cleared attracting flies especially in the warm weather while waiting staff walk straight past tables that need clearing empty handed… we could go on but you get the picture.

In good weather, ensure you reserve a table with an umbrella otherwise you won’t get one regardless of need, age or knowledge of needing to book an umbrella! They would also rather tables under umbrellas sat empty until their reserved time even if that’s 2 hours after you arrive and you could have eaten and gone by the time the table is required…

It’s not all terrible but not great either.

A few tweaks here and there though and this place could be really great. It just needs a few more modern restaurant management practices to drag it into 2021….
