Stayed for two nights after staying at Katathani Resort for 10 nights.
Everything just felt a little bit inferior to Katathani. Main pool is very deep (3m) and not ideal for kids but does have a swim up bar and kids slide. Walking through the grounds towards the beach is very nice, especially at night.
Rooms are very dated, air conditioning not the best but there is very good views of the ocean from the balcony and the mountains and big Buddha from the entry to your room.
Beds are nice and comfortable and the staff were lovely.
Resort is not beachfront, you have to cross a road.
Overall very good, just not quite as nice as Katathani.

This is a very big resort right in town which is what we wanted. There are 2 restaurants for breakfast, one at each end of the resort and 2 pools. The staff were always helpful and our villa was wonderful. We loved the roof top plunge pool and private space. They provide mosquito coils and electronic deterants as they obviously have mozzzie problems at times due to the lagoon in the resort although we didn't have major issues in April. A very enjoyable stay, thanks.

Arrived from Australia to be greeted at beautiful reception, checked in smoothly for 14 night stay Seaview room non smoking on 5th floor.
There is a extra deposit of 10,000 baht which was refunded quicker than expected which I now know seems to be the normal in 5* resorts.
The room is yes slightly older & the only drawback for me was the shower in the bath you have to be quite cautious getting in & out.
The room is kept spotless my housekeeping, 2 bottles of water delivered morning & night.
Extra touch in the evening of flower & good night card on pillow.
The grounds are extensive & beautifully kept, all signposted but takes you a few days to get you're bearings.
There is alway the happy & courteous drivers to ferry you around.
Breakfast amazing plenty to choose from & friendly staff.
Ate in the Pacifica for evening meal beautiful.
Mint great pizzas & music.
El Gaucho another nice meal, all restaurants have an extra 17% surcharge.
The swimming pool has a swim up bar pool a little noisy at times & I do think that the children should be a little more supervised by lifeguard with jumping into pool, pity there isn't a kids only pool.
I was treated with a cake on my Birthday nice touch.
All in all my stay with my Sister was pretty perfect, keep up the good work Movenpick.

after staying at the this hotel I believe that if the hotel hasn't been refurbished in many years it should loose a star. This is not a 5 star hotel. I chose this hotel based on reviews and also Movenpick in Jordan we stayed in which was amazing. Was not happy with this one, would not stay again.
There were 3 families with us altogether , all asked for an upgrade after first night as the rooms in main building are dark, dingy and smelly. Much better when we upgraded, still had to move 3 times as in the next room aircon wasn't working and they couldn't fix. Staff was very nice and came immediately when we needed anything or were unhappy. They actually gave us complimentary bottle of wine after moving so many times which was nice. The location is superb (not on the beach though, need to cross the road. not sure how I could misread this as I was specifically looking at the resort right on the beach).
At the breakfast they have special section for kids, separate plates and cute kids dishes, my 5yr old loved it. Food was good.

Outstanding

There was everything that a family needs in this nice resort. Prompt check in and very welcoming staff.

The rooms were quiet spacious (We had booked a superior room with king bed). The room had a spacious bed room with a king bed and single bed, a balcony and a bathroom with bath tub with all amenities that you expect in a 5 star resort. The room also had couple of beach slippers and umbrella which made our beach visit comfortable.

The airport pick up, though was expensive than the normal cabs, was very comfortable with bottled water and wifi, and not to mention the prompt pick up.

The choice of restaurants was good with 4 different cuisines. The best was pizza by the beach - amazing pizzas and beverages.
