A lovely peaceful hotel with gorgeous views over the islands. The swimming pool was essential and Giuseppe went out of his way to help us. Our room was spacious and private with a large open sitting area.

This is a very special place. Family run by extremely helpful staff with knowledge of local opportunities. We stayed in two roooms with stunning views of Stromboli and Panarea. Great breakfast. One of our co-travellers had a fall and needed medical attention at 10pm one evening. The staff responded immediately and stayed with us through the evaluation and treatment in iur hotel room. Great compassionate people! A heartfelt thanks for making our stay so positive when it could have been very different.

As soon as we arrived we were made so welcome and the room we had was lovely with the most stunning view from the terrace over the islands of Stromboli and Lipari and Panarea. This is our second visit and we are looking forward to the next one. The breakfasts were lovely and all so fresh. Excellent tour of the island to experience the fresh and "green" produce of Salina, stunning views from multiple locations.

Room tip: Wonderful views from the more expensive rooms, but all rooms are lovely and quiet

Arcangelo and his wife are the most welcoming hosts in Salina. Their hotel is perfectly located a few hundred meters from the harbour. They cared about our wellbeing all over our stay and suggested the best restaurants around. We recommend their hotel to families and people looking for a quiet and calm place.

Stayed for 3 nights in September. Our first impression on arrival wasn't good as we were shown a room stuck down in a canyon between 2 accommodation blocks (room 13). Initially because of communication difficulties we thought there was no alternative and were getting a bit depressed but when we persisted and with the help of Marina who had some English an alternate room was offered which was much superior, even having partial sea views (room 1). From then on we liked Hotel Arcangelo. Hotel is a pleasant place with lovely views from the common areas and many of the rooms. The room we had was reasonably good with a large terrace in front with table and chairs and space for drying towels/clothes if you needed it. Breakfast was reasonable (not best we had in terms of choice, but fine). The staff were helpful and friendly. Santa Marina is just a few minutes walk down the hill. Warning though - mosquitoes were a real problem. I got about 30 bites over the 3 days/nights I stayed in S Marina so strongly recommend having protection if using the terrace in the morning or the evening and also have a deterrent in the room itself at night time. Even though the room has insect screens on the windows and AC it was very hard to keep them out.

Room tip: try and get a room with a view or partial view. Room 13 is in a deep canyon.
