Rooms were very clean and simply furnished. We had a verandah looking out to sea and it was sunny there for most of the day. Breakfast was lovely. The two ladies who run it- Angela and Viola- are a delight , and extremely helpful and kind . It was a lovely place to stay - five minutes from the island's centre. Lots of walks and a very good bus service to other parts of the island.Trattoria Cucinotte was a short walk away and did excellent food. With Angela arranging everything we were able to make a night trip to Stromboli. Highly recommended .

this is a homey little hotel with a lovely and friendly vibe. the rooms are very simple and clean. the view is the biggest feature of this place, overlooking Strombli volcano. It's location is very good as well, close to the main street of the island and the port.

It is even better than what you see, in their photos. Five stars.! It is simply wonderful with its different levels of patios, overlooking the sea and Stromboli’s volcano. The location is perfect. Stayed there for 3 nights. It is a 10 min walk from the ferry and you are a minute walk from the pedestrian street where you can find grocery stores and everything that you need for a picnic or eat at the hotel.

As mentioned, Punta Barone fronts on the Tryrolean Sea with superb views of Stromboli and Panarea. As in Greece, it's pretty much all mountains and sea. The small hotel's been in Angela's family for a long time and she's the hostess with the mostess. Personal attention's her way. Her staff is great too. The location's perfect for this intimate island.

Punta Barone is an oasis of beauty. It is just at the end of the pedestrian thorough fare, but is totally oriented to the sea. Eating breakfast every morning looking out over the sea was the best way to start the day. Angela was a great host providing maps, bus timetables, hiking recommendations and attending to all our needs. Salina is a beautiful island to explore and a convenient base to visit other islands. Coming home every night to Punta Barone after a days’ adventure was heavenly.
