Stayed here pre these owners, was expecting same high end boutique hotel experience.
Sadly not so. I remember manicured gardens but they were somewhat unkempt. The building exterior and it’s interior is somewhat tatty but clean.
Bedroom was at first sight clean but closer inspection behind bed dusty, decor worn out.
Mattress too soft, pillows foam and flat. Bathroom clean but again tired and random bedside table parked next too the toilet!
Breakfast no coffee, had to wait nearly 10mins, waitress came to take order, no menu and had to promp her too tell us what was available. Hubby had full English no complaints, however my egg whites arrived but no toast (not so toasted!) ..5 mins until it arrived shortly followed by my mushrooms.
I’m afraid we shall not be returning I need my sleep and more importantly coffee on tap!

Loved the wallpaper is about the best I can say. The hotel décor is lovely but its all a bit superficial. We were unable to open blinds as they were not actually blinds just panels hung in front of the windows - this made the room rather dark.

The breakfast was for me a highlight though we were not offered menus. I can definitely recommend the vegetarian sausage. Its a lovely hotel but needs some money spent on bringing it to its full potential.

We did not dine at the hotel so cannot comment on the food but it does have a wedding licence and would make a beautiful venue

Dear Sir/Madame,

Thank you very much for your kind words and we are glad you enjoyed your stay with us despite the dark room issue.
We are looking into this and finding a solution to the blind/curtains issue.

We are looking forward to welcome you again at The French Partridge in the near future.

Kind regards,

Have lived in Northamptonshire for over 30 years and driven past the beautiful French Patrridge many times although always thought it was well out of our price range to actually eat , let alone stay there . An opportunity asose and we stayed last night , very sorry (BOUTIQUE FP HOTEL ) Check in good , shown to our room , three flights of stairs later ! . Room looked nice , wallpaper loved , very dark , up in the roof and blinds all closed , Broken ! , floor boards squeaked all through the night , GHOSTS !!! Small oil radiator supplied because the fitted radiator not big enough to heat the room (GUNNING ROOM) . TV old and out of date . Bed , Argos and not compleet ,pillows cheap and nasty and not a single glass in the room . BATHROOM . Both mirror lights blown so difficult for me to shave and my wife to apply makeup , toilet does not flush properly , the handle has some kind of thin metal thread to replace the proper handle . The bath /shower is down right dangerous , no rubber mat supplied and the so called grip on the bath base worn away . I have looked at previous reviews and notice the Hotel / manager do not respond to any clients reviews , good or bad , I am very sorry but our stay at The French Partridge will nor be repeated

Dear Sir/Madam,

We thank you very much for your review and we take all customer feedback very seriously. Firstly we would like to sincerely apologise for the inconvenience that you had to experience.
Please see here below our feedback to your points arisen.

The small oil radiator was supplied as extra heating as the days you visited us it was particularly cold. Our central heating was working fine during your visit.
We appreciate we probably do not have the latest TV models in the market but it is a flat screen TV and we feel it is suitable for the room.
We are not sure what happened to the blind in your room during your stay, as our Housekeeper when cleaning the room checks that everything is working as it should and advised us that the blind was working fine. Also guests staying in the same room following your stay did not report any fault to it.
The toilet handle was not the original one, but a replacement as the previous one broke. So we appreciate this not might be the 100% matching style, but according to our records it was in good working conditions.
It is true we do not normally supply rubber bath mats as on our baths we have stickers for safe bathing.
Apologies for the bulbs blown in the bathroom, we would have replaced them immediately if we were reported, so we could have provided you with glasses or cups immediately if told that there was none in the room. Nevertheless, thank you for bringing this to our attention and we will pass your feedback to our housekeeping, which is our frontline to make sure all of this is 100%.
We are sorry you found our bedding and pillows not of your comfort, we usually do not have negative comments on this matters, we are looking into the possibility of having different types of pillows so to satisfy the different tastes.
Regarding the floor squeaking, I am sure you appreciate The French Partridge is a 16th Century building and some details are part of the charm, of course our guests stays should, under no circumstance, be spoiled by any of those aspects. So with our maintenance we are looking into this and fixing accordingly.

We are extremely sorry that you had so many issues and inconveniences during your stay, should have we been made aware we could have rectified them there and then or even offered you to move you to a different room.

Since your review we have taken the necessary actions to improve the situation in the room.

Once again, we offer our sincere apologies on behalf of all at The French Partridge and we hope you will visit us again.

Faithfully,
The French Partridge

With family in Northamptonshire we have met up for Sunday lunch at most of the usual haunts. I had heard of the French Partridge at Horton but never got round to trying it before. It has a lovely village location and occupies an excellent old building. It was, however mid winter, and not many were braving the countryside. Despite a lack of atmosphere our party all enjoyed the food. While not a very extravagant menu choice, everyone was well satisfied. I had the roast beef, and it was the nicest piece of beef i have eaten for many a year. This place has been around for a long time, and is trying hard to keep standards up. Well worth a visit!

Fantastic service from Ayobami, he was extremely polite and hospitable, he cooked us a very nice breakfast and would return again solely due to him, it was quite quiet as we stayed during the cold snap Thank you very much.
