Yarm is a fine example of North Yorkshire architecture. A fine history including involvement with the north sea trade, the 17th century Civil War and the 1825 Stockton and Darlington Railways. As a result many coaching Inns were founded.
Now in addition it has many worthy restaurants and some not so good.
Parking, as ever, a problem resulting from the popularity of Yarm needs planning.

An ancient market town famous for its pubs and restaurants offers the visitor a nice treat. With lots of shops and restaurants set in a beautiful high street Yarm is a nice place to shop or visit. The walk down to the river under the viaduct is lovely. There are many attractions within a short drive, such as Preston Park, a gem of a place to visit with families.

The only issue with Yarm, as with other Medieval town is parking on a Saturday can be most challenging.

High Street does have a wide range of unique shops as well as the usual mix of cafes. It is quite a quaint street but also very busy traffic wise..
