Myself and my husband came to this hotel on a groupon voucher. We were greeted by a friendly receptionist who told us we had a free room upgrade which was a pleasant surprise. The room we stayed in was great and completely exceeded our expectations. It was very quirky but we really appreciated the individual style, the three course meal was sublime, the waiting staff were extremely attentive even though they had some particularly rude and difficult customers to deal with on the night. The staff handled the various complaints in a professional manner and treated all customers with the upmost respect. The bar area was lovely, we had a nightcap before a good nights sleep and a delicious breakfast. We will definitely come back.

Stayed on a deal with Groupon for DBB and a bottle of wine.
The hotel was lovely, the room was very smart, clean and comfy. Being on a deal, I expected a limited menu, but this was not the case and we were able to choose 3 courses from the main menu. Really enjoyed all three courses and the service was very good. Breakfast was also very good.
Used the pool, jaccuzzi, steam room and sauna and these were well maintained and clean.
Would recommend and stay again.

We stayed here a couple of years ago, enjoyed it, and decided to go back. The staff are all very friendly and well trained. Our room (on the top floor) was facing the pool, away from the motorway and was very quiet. It was furnished in a rather unusual way with heavy four-poster bed, antique style chest of drawers, wardrobe and bedside tables. Not really to our taste but we were told we had been given a room upgrade as it was our wedding anniversary. Nothing wrong with it, but unusual for the style of hotel! The armchairs were comfortable but worn and need replacing. Modern TV, towel robes and slippers, excellent hospitality tray, 2 bottles of water, and i-Pod dock all included. Small bathroom but clean and quite ok with soft towels, and bath foam, soap, shampoo and moisturiser all included. No lift so ask for a ground floor room if this is going to be a problem.
It was nice to have an anniversary card from the hotel. Apples, drinking water, ice, extra tea/coffee/milk etc available at reception. Also free chocolate brownies and flapjack available on the second day.
Our 2 night deal included a drink each and a 3 course meal on the first night. The menu is extensive, food all delicious and service excellent. A choice of sugar-free deserts was offered for my diabetic husband in addition to the standard cheese and biscuits option. Well done! Breakfast was very nice with fresh fruit salad, yogurts, cereals, help-yourself full English, toast, croissant, chocolate pain and Danish pastries. Also porridge available on request.
Another touch we appreciated was that if you told reception you did not need your room serviced on day two, you were given vouchers for two free drinks. Great benefit to both guests and hotel.
Swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna all fine with very clean changing rooms.
This hotel is a conference and wedding venue. When we were there it was very quiet but suspect it could be quite lively at times. Plenty of free parking and easy to find location just off the M6. Close to station for trains to Preston, Wigan, Manchester or Liverpool.

Would gladly stop here again, food very good had a lovely three course dinner with a free bottle of wine and a lovely breakfast the following morning. Staff were very helpful and the accomodation spacious. Will definitely visit again soon. Didn't use the pool facilities but maybe next time.

Room Tip: We stayed in 128 which was downstairs bit of a walk but we got a good deal on accomodation

This was our second stay at this lovely hotel. My husband and inhad stayed at the end of November on a short break and wanted to return with our friends as we had had such a lovely time. We were lucky enough to have one of he newly refurbished rooms which was extremely well thought out and very comfortable. The spa pool and jacuzzi were lovely and warm and clean. The food in the restaurant is of a very good quality, however service was a little slow due to the restaurant being full and additional events to be catered for within the hotel. The staff are a credit to the hotel as they are friendly, courteous and welcoming. Our thanks also go to Beth the restaurant manager who is efficient and met us warmly and showed us to our table. She manages the young staff extremely well and they are also a credit to the hotel, nothing too much trouble even though they were under a lot of pressure with the restaurant being full. The receptionists were great as were the bar staff. Well done Hallmark Leyland, we will be back! 5 star cleanliness, 5 star service.
